Then sadly you may find yourelf with a long wait on your hands.  Surely you have opinions, thoughts etc?  Share them. you'd be surprised how well you WILL fit in.  I know the whole loner thing.  I have been there most of my life.  Mine was because I was different... not Vanilla and my kink would tend to slip out inappropriately.  Here there is no such worry.  If there is anywhere where you CAN be yourself it is here.

Just join in... state your opinions, be polite and respectful and someone will notice.  If you don't believe me, I am sure there are plenty of  posters on this board who will back up this statement.

Humans are social creatures, and you have the best protection there is.. a computer screen and several thousand miles of cable. Use it!  it can be your best tool and also your best protection as there are all kinds of ways to weed out the people who you really DONT want to talk to..  You are here now.. htat is a start!  No one expects you to be all Domly and masterful, just be YOU. after all. that is where the fun begins. untill someone knows who YOU are, then D/s simply isnt going to happen in any sort of fulfilling way.

Then I hope you can pay your internet subscription and somehow..someway Blockbuster has found it's way to your fair shores and has a customer loyalty card because you'll be spending a shit load of nights alone.

Don' know what you just said but it sound offensive. Don't see why you have to be so negative about it. hehe, so much for the "Welcome to our friendly community."  XD

LittleBroken -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 5:26:07 AM)

No! It is a direct and honest answer to your question.

I could be sweet and lie to you but ultimately that won't help you.

If you take the truth as offensive then you have to look within yourself as to why that is.

Syrox -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 5:34:59 AM)

Yup... one thing you are guarenteed to get is a truthful honest answer.  No-one here has any axes to grind with you untill you give them one.  simply the truth as seen by each individual.

vincentcat -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 5:40:57 AM)

I asked a question here, is online BDSM a guy thing?

Somehow this has turned out to be a lecture about friendship and being honest. if you want to talk about me, send me a PM.

True enough, kind sir.

Those who know my style will marvel at my restraint in couching my answers in a delicate and concerned manner.

I answer with as much kindness and due consideration as I'm able, given the subject matter.

The lad would be a fool to nurse perceived offenses to his breast rather than forgo his ego and actually learn from those who are well versed on the way things work.

Stop flailing and act secure in yourself.  This is kinda painful.

I  am 18 Male and you are 34 Female of course our opinions are different. Where for me individual mind, art and achievement is important. For you it might be being with friends and such. Of course there will be misunderstandings, but it doesn't mean you are the truthful one. You just have different values.

Syrox -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 5:57:31 AM)

Also add into this the fact that you are 18 and I for example are double your age.  I don't have all of the answers. Neither does anyone else here, but generally speaking you can come away with a consensus which may resemble the real truth.

You came here saying that this site is full of people who only want to do on-line.  if you use the main CM site, then you have to wade your way through the scammers, the people who just want material to jack off to, the fake profiles etc.  I know.. Been there, done it, wore the T-shirt etc.

The simple fact of the matter is, that we ALL have a lot to learn, and as far as this site is concerned, these boards you are at least getting the REAL people from this site. it is up to you how you try to interact, woo or otherwise build something for yourself from it.. All anyone here has done is give opinions based on their own experiences and the shared experiences of all this boards users in an effort to help guide you towards something that works for you.

It is only advice.  All anyone can do is lead you to the water... it's up to you to drink.

vincentcat -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 6:03:30 AM)

But I said I don't get into crowd and I am more of an individual. And based on your WHOLE experience you say I will be forever lonely. That doesn't help much really.

Syrox -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 6:11:36 AM)

So by your statement you say that I am one of the SHEEP??  No. I am an individual and so is everyone here, we simply choose to be around people with similar interests, likes, dislikes etc.  Trust me... being a loner is a very lonely place to be. but eventually you'll tire of it. and you'll decide you want to be a part of something bigger than yourself.  when that happens, you will meet people and things will begin to happen.

On-line shopping works on Ebay, Amazon etc, but this isn't a meat market. there are real people like you and I with real needs.

Just speaking from experience.  I would have normally put your post down to being one of the "new guy whining coz he didn't score on his first day" posts, but you came across as genuine to me so I offered you MY take on things. nothing more.

One day you'll get fed up of how your life is, and at that point you'll do something to change it.  It doesn't seem you are quite there yet, so all I can do is simply wish you luck and hope you will find your own way down a good road in the future.

Mebbe I'm cynical, but I suspect that a lot of the males may be in relationships and cheating.  Not that women don't, but I doubt they do it as much as men.

Easier to cheat online than in person.

LittleBroken -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 6:14:48 AM)

Well Sweetheart..that fact is up to you.
This site is a wonderful educational tool.
A wonderful springboard into the lifestyle and it's a wonderful way to advertise your presence here and what you have to offer, which will lead to more views on your profile, leading to more replies landing in your inbox.

These are not difficult concepts to absorb or understand.

Sure you can be a 18 year old know it all -cock head and try to reinvent the wheel...go your hardest, Sport.
Time will tell that our advice was right.
You can either accept it or waste time posturing..be alone and then eventually realize we are right.

Either way I'm done instructing the dumb and the young and my politeness has reached it's end.

Sink or swim, child..I don't care at this point.

Gosh I don't know Red..... he is 18, I know for myself when I was 18 I would have had to google the term secure....well if they had computers when I was 18!!!! [:D]

This topic has gone off at a marked tangent from his original question which was - are more men interested in online only vs women?

He says he doesn't yet live in the UK but hopes to move there one day and currently lives in Lithuania  ....I don't know about everyone else but when I think of Lithuania my first thought is not of a thriving bdsm scene however I may be wrong.

Vincent, hang around the forums, read more and continue to ask questions ...and welcome [:)]

vincentcat -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 6:23:22 AM)

Lithuania is boring and does not have a single BDSM club. Plus if I go to UK next year, I shouldn't be looking for someone only for a year.

And maybe some women are wanting that one true thing and maybe that one perceived true thing wants to take that dream and whore it out to lesser men for a price.

Syrox -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 6:26:44 AM)

Hopefully the same as the rest of us.. reading, learning asking questions and seeing others points of view.

vincentcat -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 6:33:16 AM)

I believe that online BDSM is more open for men because some just want to jerk off while someone watches, while girls are looking for some emotional affection. However if you get a PM saying "Want to play with me on cam?" from a guy, you will think "Perv", but if it's from a girl, you will think "slut"
So either way a relationship needs to be established for both ganders before starting online play.

Syrox -> RE: Is online a guy thing? (6/4/2010 6:42:11 AM)

Don't believe a word of it.. BDSM is VERY MUCH a sub's world.  they call the shots. As a Dom you will only ever get with a sub if THEY want you to.

Subs set the limits we play within, subs only submit to those they want to.

That is the mistake a lot of Doms make, thinking "Me Dom. me call um shots here"  That only becomes true once you have developed a relationship and are both comfortable in that relationship.  Untill that happens, we are just guys on a board.

It is a really unique dynamic when you examine it.
