How often is it that in F/m relationships that end, that the terminating party is the female as opposed to the male?  I would expect this to be heavily favored by the females but not 100%.  What are the factors that cause these breakups?

As with any relationship I would suggest incompatibility to be the reason for a relationship to break up. In a Femdomme one it could be the sub is not doing as he's told.

LadyCimarron -> RE: Femdom breakups (6/5/2010 3:21:18 AM)

I have very rarely seen a a male sub breakup with the femdom. Mostly it has been the femdom to actually end the relationship.
However; I have seen a lot of cases where malesubs wanted to breakup and acted like a total ass so that the femdom would do the dirty work. So if you look at it from that point of view, I would say its pretty even.

I agree with Lady Cimarron. Who breaks, or is untrue to the relationship? Sometimes it is left to the Domina to do the work of the splitting. But when that point is reached, how many times has the sub being untrue to his compromise, to his part in the relationship. I am one to be blamed for many break ups but I am not the one to stay in a relationship that does not work. I try my best to make it work but if it doesn't - it is better to go on. I am a lifestyle Domina and my subs or slaves have being my one to one relationship of a soulmate...
I think breaking up starts the moment the intention and focus is not Us, it is other things - your thoughts, jobs, friends, family....doesn't have to be another woman. When I feel alone in the dance, out in a limb....

I have been the dumper and the dumpee in breakups.

Lockit -> RE: Femdom breakups (6/5/2010 8:55:16 AM)

It's so easy to jump in and just address the questions asked, but this type of question often implies things or leaves out a few things and I wonder about what's missing or maybe even what I am seeing in it.

BDSM is just another aspect to our lives, just as many other things could be, like health, money, children, no children and on and on. So maybe the question could be... what kind of bdsm/d-s issues have caused breakups in a d-s/bdsm relationship? I see it all as just another aspect of a relationship. I don't give certain powers to one side or the other dom or sub, as I see them as human beings with all that comes with a human being.

I have trouble when we look at bdsm and partakers as different than others and with dynamics that make us different in ways that are actually human dynamics of a relationship, period.

I have been both the caller of the end and the one who had the end called by another. On a whole I can't see this as a bdsm issue, but one of a relationship issue.

i don't mean to be disrespectful, but this is a rather silly question.  You are failing to realize that D/s relationships are still relationships.  They can end for an infinite number of reasons, and either person can end the relationship.  There is no protocol for a breakup.

i have had Dommes break up with me, and i have broken up with Dommes.

SlaveSubtoserve -> RE: Femdom breakups (6/5/2010 6:57:25 PM)

agree strongly with Ms Lockit as i ended a F/m relationship because it had simply run its course from my POV exclusive of anything BDSM-ish so....its fundamentally a relationship like any other but with some strong twists is all and if the male sub loses interest in the Domme as a person, things will end just like anything vanilla-ish.

It depends on the X-Box factor.

LadyPact -> RE: Femdom breakups (6/6/2010 9:10:21 PM)

I've been on both sides.  I wouldn't be willing to say that it is more one than the other.  It's like any other cross section of society.

hereyesruponyou -> RE: Femdom breakups (6/7/2010 4:58:29 PM)

Depends on the relationship. On my side it has been more the final decision of the sub, but the reasons vary from me being too intense to me being too busy to give him constant attention and direction. I am unlucky enough to live in a rural community so real time relationships are limited. I am less than 2 hours from 3 major metropolitan areas and alot of guys are desperate enough to think that is close enough to make something work, but then real lief steps in and travel time suddenly becomes an issue. I guess the fact that I have a mate that is kinked and open to many things keeps me from feeling the need to settle for something that is just eh for me...

slavekal -> RE: Femdom breakups (6/7/2010 5:41:32 PM)

My relationships ended for non femdom reasons.  One lady was irresponsible and a heavy drinker.  Another turned thirty and wanted to have a baby.  I did not.  She left.  If not for the kid issue, I would probably still be her slave all these years later.
