He and I met because of our mutual interest in BDSM, particularly Ds.  He wanted a sub he could develop towards slavery, if possible.  I wanted a dom who could control and push me.  We met to figure each other out.  What happened was that he fell in love and I fell in confusion.  Now, a year later, we are both so 'loved up' it's disgusting.

Yes, his love for me dilutes his dominance somewhat but, my love for him accepts this.  It also enables me to respect, trust and believe in him more.  So, our journey may be slower than it would otherwise have been, but it is felt more deeply and realistically; it is considered, discussed and careful.  Not to everyone's liking to be sure, but it works for us because we love each other and is simply 'the way it is'.

Does this make him 'less than' dominant?  Who cares?  I don't - and neither does he.

It is not so much love, which is hard to define anyway, I think it is the traditional notion of romantic love that can be a hinderance
