Chemists here may wet themselves laughing,for this has long been known about, but people, we have a new enviromental chemical compound to be aware of, for it is everywhere ;

Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is a colorless and odorless chemical compound, also referred to by some as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric acid. Its basis is the highly reactive hydroxyl radical, a species shown to mutate DNA, denature proteins, disrupt cell membranes, and chemically alter critical neurotransmitters. The atomic components of DHMO are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol.

What are some of the dangers associated with DHMO? Each year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of dollars in damage to property and the environment. Some of the known perils of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:

Anyway, be advised ;

Noone has mentioned DHMO addiction. In some countries where it is scarce, the government actually brings it in, ostensibly to prevent rioting in the streets. This addiction has not been found to be preventable or curable I might add. It is also more widespread than anyone can even imagine. And like any addiction, it ends in death. Additionally, one of the major complications of DHMO withdrawal is death. Very few other substances known share these traits.

So it is a Catch 22 situation, there actually may be no hope for a solution.

Actually, I've heard it's safe in a water solution.  DHMO thinned with water is OK.  I know this, because I had a chemistry set once.

Well that's not surprising is it, apparently there is a suggestion that there is a Dihydrogen Monoxide conspiracy ;

Dihydrogen Monoxide Conspiracy Current allegations suggest that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) may be conspiring to cover up the whole DHMO issue. Attempts by DHMO researchers to elicit comment from the EPA regarding the possible coverup were either ignored or dodged, leading researchers to infer the alleged coverup.

These pricks should be lined up and shot, or better yet put them in a giant vat of DHMO and raise the temperature to 100C for about a day or so. See how they like that !

That still does nothing for the ones who are hopelessly addicted.
