Since I'm a cross-dresser and still in the closet I have a question.  Has any other male submissive cross-dresser here come out of the closet about being a cross-dresser and if so how did it go?  Still no one else has seen me cross-dressing, that I know of, although I have had a few close calls.  Also, to the CDs that go out dressed up, what kind of looks do you get, what bathroom do you use, and do you get rejected by bouncers at bars?

If you are comfortable now, coming out may not be the wisest thing to do.
If you can enjoy it with your Mistress privately this is fantastic.
Think twice before deciding to come out.

I identify as transsexual, but me putting on girl clothes is still a form of crossdressing.  I would not get all bent on what terms people try to apply to you.

Look, if there is any community besides the gay community where it is safe to crossdress it is the kink community.

I am a bi-male girlie-boy submissive.  I dress at kink events all the time and have never (granted I have only been in this culture for about 2 years..) been treated with anything other than respect and dignity.  People have been pretty open to me.

I have to say that if you make the attempt to dress in an age appropriate manner similar to what you will see bio-females wearing, your acceptance will be better.  In the dungeon or at clubs however, the sky is the limit.  My favorite outfit right now is a black sparkly Bon-Jovi tank top with red ribbon corset lacings, a short black schoolgirl skirt with teardrop petty, and either black thigh-high heels or black stockings with little red bows on the tops and red satin heels.  I look like I should be hiding in the back of the tour bus.  It is so delicious and people have been -very nice- and -very complementary- to me.

Honestly it is pretty safe to do this in the kink community.  :)

Have you been to www.crossdressers.com ? There is a good community where that same question(s) come up often and there is plenty of people who are going threw the same issues. I used to be a dom with my wife (gf at the time), but after years of trying to force the square peg into the round hole(Giggity) we tried the opposite and it works! We've never been happier. I started Cd'n on and off years ago but have no intrest in 'comeing out' personally.

I knew an investment banker, old guy who liked to cross dress. No big deal. I am not sure about what bathroom to use, depends where you are. Maybe start out by going to some gay friendly clubs.

The rule of thumb for restrooms is go to the bathroom of the gender you are portraying. But get in, do your busisness, and leave. Dont be that creepy chick.

i don't know if its still a good site but check out but www.urnotalone.com ...it used to carry a great wealth of resources for the transgender community with loads of friendly people
