funny this should come up. this one lives in a Gorean fashion, however her orders to speak in 3rd person came before that implementation as a reinforcement that nothing belongs to her, not even her name. Things are not "mine" and never is this girl "I", or even "i". It's comforting and it's reinforcing as she said earlier. ::shrugs:: It's hard to get used to it, it took some few days. but it works.

.. For me.. the whole Gor thing is just a little silly. Don't be offended, notice i've started my post with "For me". Myself, i can't base my sexual identity on some fictional novels, but for me this lifestyle isn't about fantasy, which for some i realize it is. The last i heard, John Norman's books pretty much lable submissive men as less than dirt, but again, fantasy vs reality. All that aside, the whole third person thing is probably the single most annoying thing in chat. (again, in my opinion) However there's a tonne of other things about online chat that are just as annoying so in the name of being open minded and tolerant of other people's lifestyles there's no reason to be upset about it. :) sns

OOoOlala. I have to defend Poor, innocent Mr. Norman. snort I understand you said "For you"...so i'm not trying to change your mind at all. But in the books it pretty much clearly states that the whole D/s philo on Gor has to do with the Natural Order of Things. Men are men, woman are woman, so if a man fell vicitim to slavery it was seen as a weakness on his part, if even only temporarily. Though...there is a contridiction to everything. lol How is that for straddling the fence? Syn

for some it works...for others it does not. Shall we not send this into a flame post section, for while this girl won't get involved...she's seen it happen to other boards. Lets just say "your kink is not better that my kink" and neither is one philo right or wrong. End of story.

The biggest best thing that can be said about the boards and Gorean is this, IF you are Gorean, say that you are, try to live to the best you can by the example of what Norman said and take what works for you the best and form your lifestyle by that be you Master-Free Companion/Woman-kajira-kajirus, you are leaving yourself wide open for either or both lifestyle/personal attack. If you are Gorean and do not live as other Goreans think you should, you are wrong and not a true Gorean. Notice please there are no names being printed here or finger pointing... just an observation. WAIT~ HOLD THE PRESS!!!..... that sounds just like BDSM.... WOW who woulda thunk that they might actually have sumtin' in common??? Translation.... Whether you are BDSM or Gorean, some seem to think they are given the right to judge and make attacks. It would be nice to see one post on Goreans that is not attacking. But Goreans either end up defending themself or the books and saying this is what we base our lifestyle on. Think about it.... someone who takes ANY part of an idea that Norman placed in their mind and twist it, shape it, form it into something that works for them is really not Leather, really not BDSM, there is no title, but because they associate some of their protocol on what influenced them, the consider themself Gorean. Gorean with pride and honor. Gorean - being what they consider themself to be. Who ever wrote a guideline or book for Leather or BDSM or GOREAN that says that a Dom/sub, Master/slave has to live a certain way or they are not for real???? Just this girl's thoughts. girls, this one thinks that developing a judgemental opinion on the consenual slavery of two ADULTS is next to ridiculous outside the situation itself. Saying one is "Gorean" really amounts to next to nothing to describe the dyad itself. Goreans are still Earthlings, like it or not...and they come at things from a plethra of different backgrounds etc. This house is Gorean in ethos in many ways, and still We hold no bizarre idea that We have giant birds to fly around on, or can go kidnap women form the streets. she would say by and large what seperates Gorean ethos form BDSM in general is merely the natural order concept and that Men are men, women are women. The other main difference between the Gorean households this girls knows and BDSM..is Gor is more heavy on the D/s and light on the S and M. Most Masters she has known use the whip to punish and train not for "scening" or "playing"...and it follows then that most of the Masters she has known are also not sadists at all, and some even find the practice itself of S and M "unnatural". Now....as for the other posts of if "you are Gorean say you are" etc...the girl thinks that this in and of itself is a heated discussion in the community....this is not Gor, it is Earth...and so who is it exactly who gets to say "this is Gorean" and "this is not". she could pontificate for hours on the "unhonorableness" of men touting about to be "Warriors" who aren't in any military or security force....yet they claim to be the end all be all information of what is Gorean online. This house consdires these men be "unGorean" so does that mean We get to decide that 9/10ths of the online Gorean community is "unGorean", no. It means you never join sides with anyone just because they "say" they are anything. Words mean nothing, judge Us by Our actions. Not by what We SAY We are, but by the lives We LIVE day in and out. So...in an nutshell, judge not lest ye be judged...or atleast don't GENERALIZE....because saying one is Gorean...means little in describing the dyad itself. sabrina King kajiira House of King

ps- and ya'll have no idea how long it took this girl to write that without typos to a minimum...lol, she doesn't spend much time online, doing real slave work....lol so she has no huge archives of quotes catalogued into her computer to throw at anyone, or countless beautiful Gorean serves to throw at you....in many eyes this makes her "unGorean" but the true spirit of a Gorean cares not what anyone thinks of hwo they live, she lives true to her house. Speaking in third person, while most commonly seen used by Goreans, doesn't always mean the user is flouncing in silks. Speaking in that way can be a humbling experience for some, helping them achieve a headspace and understanding that they may not have been able to achieve before. However, having said that, it's not something I do or enjoy. I did try it once upon a time, but it didn't fit right. The biggest question I have about speaking that way, is do they talk that way offline, in everything, or only kink settings? I can't help but think of Bob from the tv show "Becker", and how he'd talk about himself [;)]

As for this girl, yes she does often speak in 3rd person at home but not always. When stormi and Master are within the confines of their home, there are many times that Master prefers that stormi ask for things in 3rd person. Example, Master this girl would like to ask You if she might ...........? stormi does not always remember but does try. It's very easy actually. The hardest thing in this relationship is that stormi is with Master publicly alot and some of those situations call for vanilla behavior, trust this girl when she says that she has stumbled many times in public with the Maaaaaaaas... um Bear.....or Maaaaaan in charge.
