quote:
ORIGINAL: subapplicant A wise woman once wrote: "If you do not agree with My lifestyle information, as listed honestly in My profile, that is your right. But please don't feel you need to send a judgmental email. Just pass Me by! Mutual respect should be a given on this site." Do you agree that it extends to posts as well? That we owe each other mutual respect, and the benefit of the doubt? Like you say, if you don't agree with the lifestyle information, or a post, isn't better not to be harshly judgmental, and just to pass by? And that quote from My forums profile would be referring to My personal profile, as opposed to anything I might post on a public forum. When I publish what I personally seek in a profile ad I would not expect anyone to write to Me and tell My why I am wrong. Unfortunately, there are those who feel this is alright, and they get their jollies from sending out nasty emails. Many examples of it have been given over time and this problem has been oft discussed right here on these message boards. I also would not browse another profile and then write to them to tell then why I think they are wrong. I might see the profile and disagree with it, or know this is the one for Me, but I will not presume to write a letter saying so. As stated, a message board or a public forum is a different thing. I always try to be polite, but I am honest. What some people may perceive to be harsh judgement is meant to be constructive criticism. Text is always difficult. And didn't I recently read, somewhere, that some boys like the term "Bitch Goddess" and even like to be controlled by a bitch? *Wink* Proudly signed as... GDG
