Actually no. The Average Iranian citizen does not have a closet full of AK-47's...It's the imported mercenary thugs brought in from every shit hole sewer and Pali territory in the Middle East that the Mullahs bring in to control the Iranian masses that have the guns.

Try to imagine if Obama took away all our guns, brought in 200,000 illegal Mexican males from the worst slums in Mexico City...Gave them all M-16's and RPG launchers and then spread them across the country as a Police Force and Military on to themselves with the power to arbitrarily execute anyone for anything...Hell most of the Domme women on here would be stoned to death in a week or so. They were beating women for having SUNTANS a couple of weeks ago.

Thats what life in Iran is like for the average Iranian.

We need to learn and understand that if a country and its people do not have enough guts to throw off their oppressors then it will do little good for us to do it for them...they will not be able to keep their freedom.

As for having the means the Iranian people had no problem overthrowing the Shah. Despite what we believe there are not enough Iranians against the current regime. They deserve what they are getting…which is what the majority wants for now.

What's happening in Iran should be no concern of ours, for it is their country and they will forge it the way they will. Yes, it is nasty what is going on over there, but in time they will sort it out, just like every other successful country has done through history, but when they do, lets hope they do not forget their past as so many countries have.

But why beyound the humanitarian angle should foreigners be concerned for it is a different country with a different set of rules. The only times in history that other countries have intervened in support of a downtrodden population is instances where those interfering countries have used the situation for other means, perhaps a modicum of favour which borders control in trade purposes or the downright pillaging of their resources or any other strategic advantage.

Governments despite what they say do not care about people, as whence in power, their future opens up for them and they then rim the asses of the interests that enable them to prosper. A foreign government citing human rights issues in other countries as a means of attempting to intervene beyond sanctions, is a government softening the populace to the fact that they want to be there, another war perhaps on the grounds of aiding human rights.

I wonder though, would the interest be so great if it wasn't for the fact that Iran is a rich oil bearing nation.

Oil aside, let them sort out their own problems.

You do know that it took them over a quarter of a century to get rid of the Shah once the CIA had deposed Mossadeq and put him back into power?
