ETA: If someone chooses to believe random gossip about me that says alot about THEM, none of which is positive in my eyes so I would probably be greatful they moved on.

No, I wasn't trying to imply that. I was saying that if someone has a habit of saying crappy stuff to everyone, you shouldn't take it too personally when he does it to you. Basically, I was saying he does it to everyone, don't worry about it.
