Tombeaux -> Welcome To Nigeria (6/10/2010 1:46:04 AM)

What has happened to this site?  I spend more time sorting through posers and scammers than actually getting to know people.  I wish there was a way to certify or qualify people.

delicatelydirty -> RE: Welcome To Nigeria (6/10/2010 2:01:35 AM)

most here are certifiable ... [;)] but thats not quite what you meant is it?

WyldHrt -> RE: Welcome To Nigeria (6/10/2010 2:15:43 AM)

Setting your search parameters for women over 30 will eliminate 90% of the scammers. Ditching a weight minimum will find you more real people to get to know.
If you are searching for a 110-130lb twentysomething, they are certainly here, but you will have to suck it up and use the search/ sift through profiles to find them.

Ok, send me a scan of your passport/ DL, and a pic of you holding a sign that says "Wyldhrt Rocks", and I will be happy to certify you.

Seriously, though. I suspect that you do not understand how big this site is, nor the fact that it is free because it is staffed by volunteers..... none of whom have the free time to review 500 profiles per day, let alone "certify" or qualify" anyone.

Oooooo I wanna do that Wyld.

Can I send you my Bank Account Information too?

If you go to the read mail option and look up in the right hand corner there is an option for mail controls. If you check the out of country option all those mails will go to your bulk folder. There are other options as well that help me avoid alll the crap mail.

DarkSteven -> RE: Welcome To Nigeria (6/10/2010 6:00:53 AM)

OP, your profile is bare bones to the point of being ridiculous.  No real woman would have any interest in you based on that or your brief post here.  So of course the spammers and scammers are going to contact you - who else would?

Browse profiles and send mails to the women whose profiles you like.  Make sure to reference something unique in their profile or their posts here and don't just send a one size fits all letter.

And why do you spend so much time on the fakes?  I get maybe five a week, and I simply report and block each and move on.

Jeffff -> RE: Welcome To Nigeria (6/10/2010 6:02:59 AM)

I don't even report anymore. I just block and delete.

The thought of these girls? annoying others, make me smile...:)

pahunkboy -> RE: Welcome To Nigeria (6/10/2010 6:14:54 AM)

Well it looks like you spend most of your time on the other side of the site.  i seldom spend any time over there.  If i am on this site, i am here on the message boards.

You only have 2 posts so far, so i am going to assume that you spend little time here.  Try correcting that and engaging in some of the conversations here on the message boards.  You'll find that suddenly you will start to know some people.  You'll also notice that lots of people will start looking at your profile (people who DON'T live in Nigeria or Ghana).  Good luck.  [;)]

I don't spend that much time on 'the other site' either, I mostly just read the forums - great way to meet interesting people just by looking at their profiles/have your profile looked at after a post.
If you then manage to handle both interest and rejection without coming off as insulting or anything like that - it's going to help.

Also, I agree with the posters saying your profile is too short.

I think wyld gave you some great advice... if you narrow your search parameters and criteria to exclude 18 yr olds that weigh under 110 you will see more real people...

Tombeaux -> RE: Welcome To Nigeria (6/10/2010 9:24:29 AM)

Thanks to those who offered constructive suggestions.  I will be spending more time in the forums and will expand the details of my profile as well. While I take a look at the eye candy from time to time, I am realistic and have set my criteria to something reasonable.  Believe it our not I have actually scened and have met a fair number of people with my profile as is, in the past.  However, the advice is noted and I will spend some time providing greater detail.

While there is a video chat, which I guess is considered "the other site", does anyone know if someone has opened a teamspeak or ventrillo to support these forums.  In an attempt to minimize geeky, they are multiplex voice programs where groups can meet and talk online.  I was thinking about opening one "for free" since I have the resources.  The client program is free and all you need is a headset with mic.
