Well let's see what we have for "Facts". The US is now in a bracket where it is possible they will get to the semis. England, not so much. Would you not agree the reason for this is in no small part due to England's blunders and ineptitude? Neither the US or England are very good at scoring goals. That is compounded for England without Beckham on those corner and free kicks. The EPL may be the greatest league in the world. But that's doesn't really translate to International success. How many of the most athletic ball handlers, booming legs, and prolific scorers in the EPL are not English?

Firstly....the Premier League isn't necessarily the 'greatest in the world'....it's probably the most exciting because we play with a gung ho attitude...which means an end to end game......but...technically...the Spanish league is superior. The English style is to go out and get forward at any given opportunity.......in contrast to say the Italian and German style where it's more important to be organised...which leads to a game of cat and mouse...and boring at times..... England's national situation is down to English culture. In England...it's club first and country second.....which has implications for the national team in a way which you could only understand if you lived in a country where the national team is of secondary importance. There aren't so many countries in the world where the national team is almost an afterthought.

Yes here, most of the time the team doesn't even register as an after thought. They just guaranteed that to continue. they had the best draw they were probably ever gonna get for a path to the semis. Now they come home because once again they can't really score.

The US did OK - I'd say theyve advanced their cause by some way and its only a matter of time before they get further in a tournament (at which point a team like Portugal will take them to the cleaners). And Butch - bear in mind that the Scots, Welsh and Irish will all be supporting Germany this afternoon. Its the England team playing (in less than an hour now) and the rest of the UK hates us with a passion when it comes to this sort of thing. E
