I think at some point survival instinct kicks in and I know for me there isn't much i wouldn't do to survive. Being with out an arm is better than being dead.

I'd try, but I don't know how far I could go with it; one of the doctors said the pain he was in doing it was almost certainly "indescribable".

I seriously don't think I would be able to do it. Then again, who really knows until you are actually in a postion like that.
kallisto -> RE: Could you? (6/11/2010 5:26:44 PM)
I don't know if I could. Although I've done some things that I never thought I could do before until I was put in that situation. Although I sincerely hope I'm never in a situation to find out whether I could do this.

Just one more reason to always have my cell phone near!
I really don't think I could do it. I would probably die.

I think I probably could, or would at least try once I felt like there was absolutely no other way, and the only other option was death. I think maybe it becomes a basic instinctive type of response, as we've heard stories of this type before.
It looked like he was in a residential neighborhood. It's a shame that he couldnt have banged on something, made noise somehow, or yelled out for help to the neighbors etc.
