timeoutgurlie -> HIDDEN USERS? (4/11/2006 8:06:54 PM)

Hi Everyone,

Skimming over the options I saw a few things, one of which confused me so I'm hoping someone here may know what it means.

You know where there are the tabs for 'Admirers', 'New Users', 'Blocked Users' etc, there's one that says "Hidden Users'...does this mean that when I've blocked someone, I become a 'hidden user' and they can still see my status and whatnot?

I'm dying to know what's up with this, thanks

Actually, it means you can hide profiles you don't want to see.

In that bar of buttons under the picture, there is  one called "Hide User" That means that when you search, they won't show up.

If you're not interested in someone, or if you just don't want to see their profile, it's pretty useful.

I use it to hide anyone I know I'll never message to clear up my searches.

Hope that helps!

Yours,

benji

hidden user is other profiles you may have hidden from showing up to you

like say there is someone you do not wish to see pop up on home page you can go to there profile and block them and hide them from you having to see when they are on

hope I explained it right...

Or you can just hide them because they are not a match for you, and you want to narrow your search.

Weird- doesn't it take the same energy to just click to another profile?

Yes, but you only have to do it once ... then when you log on later, there will not be the profiles that you already know are not a match coming up.

That's awesome, not a feature I'll really be using, but it's such a relief to know what it does now that, really, whatever function it could've had would've been perfect compared to not knowing lol

Thanks for the help everyone!

WOHOO Finally a way to stop showing all those endless profiles I have seen adozen times and have no interest in haha

EasyE -> RE: HIDDEN USERS? (4/11/2006 9:26:32 PM)

That is pretty cool i guess... How's the admirers tab work ppl that have you in their favorites?

I think so, yup.  I keep seeing new names and names that disappear, so looks like it's all whatever they do on their side because I haven't done anything on my side here.  So, seems like if they click you as a Favorite, then you'll see them in your Admirer list.

timeoutgurlie -> RE: HIDDEN USERS? (4/11/2006 9:36:57 PM)

One more thing, is there a way to see quickly who's on and offline on the collarme.com part of the site?

Something like how it on messengers where they're bolded or change colors?  Or is there nothing here that will show if someone's on or not other than searching their username?

I've tried to spot any subtle changes to the Favorites list when someone sends mail and I know they're online, but it looks exactly the same as when they're offline [&o]

gooddogbenji -> RE: HIDDEN USERS? (4/11/2006 9:51:34 PM)

That's something I don't understand anyway, online and offline here.  My computer never gets shut down, so the Collarme window is usually open 24/7.  Does this make me be online 24/7?

Also, people often send me messages when they've been offline for a while.

How does the system decide if someone is online?  Anyone know?

Yours,

benji

But this way you never have to see that profile ever again!

It's like that commercial they used to have for extended-life Philips light bulbs.  It takes the same amount of effort to put in an extended-life bulb.  But it will last you two years.

Yeah but having light is something I really want and consider good to have.  A profile isn't a big deal for me.

But it obviously makes people happy.  I'm sure we'll have people complaining about the feature/it's use or lack thereof soo n enough.

FelinePersuasion -> RE: HIDDEN USERS? (4/12/2006 11:14:31 AM)

haha I like not having to scroll past a ton of profiles I have no interest in. It's a convenece for sure not needed really but handy

If they post in the forums, you  can look under the avatar of any of their posts, it will tell you if they are online or not...

stef -> RE: HIDDEN USERS? (4/12/2006 8:38:25 PM)

That only works if the user in question hasn't checked the "Hide from online user list?" checkbox in their forum profile.

Hide User

Hide User means Ugly be gone!

Don't you just hate it when you first log on CM to see something completly hidious? Everytime you see it, just click the Hide User option and you and you decrease the odds of comming accross something like that again.
