GreedyTop -> RE: True Blood Season Three (6/13/2010 7:22:30 AM)

I just hope we're slow at work tonight, so I can watch it!

LadyAngelika -> RE: True Blood Season Three (6/13/2010 9:33:13 AM)

Yeah! I've been waiting for a year to find out who kidnapped Bill! I have my suspicions so I'm dying to find out if I'm right.

And for anyone who read anything and even thinks of spoling this for me, remember the no spoilers rule of this forum!

DomImus -> RE: True Blood Season Three (6/13/2010 2:55:07 PM)

Anyone know when the next season of Dexter begins?

Wikipedia is awesome for such questions. Showtime has renewed Dexter for a fifth season, which is set to premiere September 26, 2010.

I always found Sookie to be Domme-like, in the same way that Buffy was.

And thanks for the tip. Sounds like a great date movie ;-)

I'm still waiting to get my hot grubby hands on the next Sookie Stackhouse book...Dead in the Family.

From what I've been told True Blood is completely different from the novels it's suppose to be based upon.

I can't help but feel sorry for Charlaine Harris.

My daughter (adult) met her, talked to her, and had one of her books signed when she was here for a book signing. My daughter said she is the most pleasant person you would ever meet.

xxblushesxx -> RE: True Blood Season Three (6/13/2010 5:02:11 PM)

The series is more...clever than the books. Charlaine has some well-drawn characters, but she (like Laurel Hamilton) kind of loses her way about half way through a series. It's possible they're being pressured for books that probably shouldn't have been written, which is why some of the later books read like bad charicatures of the earlier ones.

I still read them though...[:-]

reynardfox -> RE: True Blood Season Three (6/13/2010 5:12:21 PM)

If you like this you will LOVE Being Human, check it out, a sensational vampire, a soft werewolf and the hottest ghost ever, all in the same house, it's like Friends but with teeth.

xxblushesxx -> RE: True Blood Season Three (6/13/2010 5:25:58 PM)

Hmmm...I'll look it up on Amazon!

xxblushesxx -> Speaking of True Blood (6/13/2010 5:30:18 PM)

HM tells me there's a 15 minute preview show coming on fifteen minutes before the show. (which is fifteen minutes from now!) Must go prepare libations and stuff!

thornhappy -> RE: True Blood Season Three (6/13/2010 8:29:20 PM)

Awesome show, it was running over here on BBC America.

I agree with Larurel K. Hamilton, I'm halfway through one right now and it's just drivel and meaningless detail that's not all that relevant to anything. It's disappointing as I really enjoyed the series, maybe it will get better. I don't really agree with Charlaine Harris though, other than one recent book in which I felt the complicated storyline didn't fit her writing style too well and she floundered, I think she's remained pretty true to the original content and substance. It's not horribly dramatic stuff, but it's more fun reading than other serial vamp writers.

I was disappointed with Larurel K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series.
The earlier books were great when she mixed all the sex with the bloodshed and the detective work.
Then she seemed to lose her way with the introduction of the Amour and the metaphysical sex.
For christ sake!
I'm half way through the book and Anita is still fucking a cast of thousands in the back of the Limo.
All right already, Lass!
Drag your knees together and get the fuck outta the car!

Larural K. Hamiton's Fairy series is much better.
