Lockit -> The Other Side of Classy (6/13/2010 2:04:09 PM)

I’ve worn the suits behind the desk, stood at podiums with my little speeches and lived the high life, but what I want is so blue collar it’s hard to believe if you saw me before. I want raunchy. I want down right disgusting sometimes. I WANT to LAUGH! Hell, I’m a mobile home livin, trash talkin, dominant woman who has a running vehicle out front and the sofa inside. I’ve been classy and I can be still, but what I really want is the other side of classy.

Gretchen Wilson proved a lot to a whole lot of people and I’m just that type of gal… by choice. While classy was interesting, with a challenging career and I had some great experiences, nothing beats my bar, honky tonkin days, Gretchen, Dixie Chicks, drinkin and a smoking, dancing and playing pool days of old. So I can’t do a whole lot of that these days, my heart is still there. I want my comedy raunchy. I like when I am called a gutter mouth… I earned that well.

Ron White, submissive style… I want you!

Am I the only one? I think not, but speak up now or forever hold your piece… yes I meant that. Do you see any benefit to the other side of classy? Examples please… this could be a wanker thread.

One definition of "classy" is: "having or reflecting high standards of personal behavior ." In no way does this contradict the things you describe as being/wanting. I feel the same way you do. I come from very humble, rural beginnings and am what most would consider "redneck" in many ways. I also am educated, very free thinking and many other things that would balance out any tendencies my raising may have engendered in me. I consider myself very classy but not because I have lots of money, dress in expensive clothes, act uptight, speak perfect English, or any other numerous things many would associate with the traditional view of the word "classy."

I've lived in several trailers, drunk barrels of cheap beer/wine, been married to a convict and incarcerated myself, love hanging out in honky-tonks with my wild friends - the list of "the other side of classy" things in my life could go on and on. Some would probably call me "trash," the ignorant bigot fucks. But fuck THEM. I've seen life from all angles, both low and high, and I love it all. I DO have "high standards of personal behavior," though they may not match the expectations of some. Who cares? I am who I am, both low brow and high and it's been a blast[:)]

More power to ya, you trash-talkin' wench, you[;)]

Well I see what you're saying as you want to live, enjoy and celebrate freely without the confines of societal expectations...to an extent. I am very much the same way. My friends are also professionals, but together the four of us are more likely than any middle age adults I work with to be warned several times we will have to leave the restaurant or bar if we don't settle down and watch the language. I find that if you pick the people you spend time with carefully, you can have all of that and the 'classy' successful exterior too.
