I was trying to give a count down, rather than do your work for you. LOL!

Please don't say I'm a post Nazi.  I think I can get some people to let you know that in their opinion, I'm nothing of the sort.  If you had a little trouble following along, sorry, but as I've said elsewhere, the OP for this thread was started 3 full days before the "Charter Membership" option closed.

Oh, and as to how "tough," I am, actually you were 22 seconds late, but I wasn't so tough that I closed you out, now was I?

Let's keep it light and FUN!  Calling people "tough" and a "Nazi" isn't my idea of fun, just sayin'

Now, back to our regularly scheduled Fag Hag string.

Might be at your end, but not a smilie in sight.

Mama taught me, "Say what you mean, and mean what you say."  I've found that very helpful - even to the point of saying "just joking."

Thanks for letting me know.  Otherwise you were going to be put on my "What a bitch" list and I'm not joking.

Lance has to go and help a Leather friend infected with AIDS.  See y'all later.

Blessings on you and your friend Lance.  Our burdens are lessened when friends are there to share them with.  <3

LanceHughes -> RE: Ok, Ladies.... Charter members get a tag-line (6/17/2010 2:55:04 PM)

And the reverse is true, as well.

Our burdens are lessened when friends are there to share them with.

Sharing the burdens of my friend lessens my own burdens since he helps me with mine.

I was very worried about Rodney.  A few days ago, he sent an e-mail that he thought he wouldn't be able to get into his (huge) garden at all this summer.  "May just as well nail the coffin shut," was what I thought to myself.  Turns out he was in pretty good shape all things considered.  Actually, he had been out a few days doing yard work, the bastard.  I asked what he meant by that e-mail and he said he'd just been feeling down that day.  Well, he'd better keep me informed of the good days instead of just telling me the bad.

We had a nice visit.  I took him a generous portion of my Pork and Bell Pepper Stew and he ate the whole thing!  I was expecting maybe half.  Then we had our traditional visit - we cut fruit salad.... probably 2 gallons worth, and then we split it.  Cantaloupe, mangos, pineapple, Mandarin oranges, pears (last 3 from cans), fresh pears, apples, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, (last three - no cutting) BIG ass green grapes - which do get cut - nice juice.

See, all you other FHs - Otter knew what to write.  Lance is concerned about Rodney, so the Honorary member was worried.  Lesson learned?

good to hear your friend is ok, lance.

wonder why it is that people tend to automatically tell you the not so good going on in their lives, rather than telling us something as simple as, "it's pissin' down rain and my garlic is LOVING it!"

Lance, I must admit that I have never had any contact with anyone with AIDS, that I know of. Of course, I am not active so not exposed as others. But if I can for a moment compare it to someone slowly dying of cancer, then I know imtimately what you both are feeling. Sometimes all you need is someone that will let you vent without being judgemental. And of course, someone that helps to keep your day sunny. Our family lost a lot of friends when my Mom was diagnosed with cancer. Bless you for sticking by your friend.

Yes, it is a slow death, similar to that of cancer.  The main difference IMHO is that AIDS is a Syndrome (as in Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome.)  So, there's always something different.  This time pneumonia, the next time liver failure, but not serious enough, and then the most common of flus, that anyone else coughs once and is done with.  MRSA (pronounced Mer-sah) is an infection which about 2/3 of the general population has.  Rodney can't throw it off.  And the same for "CMV retinitis."  Most people have been exposed with no ill-effect.  Ever see those "floaters" in your eye? That's CMV.  They cause blindness in those infected with HIV.

And then, there's this kind of nonsense to put up with:
"AIDS stands for Anal Injected Death Sentence"
and
GAY stands for "Got Aids Yet?"

NOT to denigrate your experiences, since they are similar in the prognosis, but YEP - it's great to just pass the time of day, chatting 'bout this and that; fun things we've done.  People we know, places we've been.  In that, the experiences are IDENTICAL.

One reasom you might not "have known of," is that AIDS is now (in many, many instances) capable of being  under control - take your drugs, watch other life-style choices, and basically you can live a full and happy life.

Rodney contracted AIDS probably 20+ years ago..... It's a long story with twists and turns, but basically, no "cocktail" - as the combo of meds are called - is effective.

So, thanks for your kind words..... stay tuned to this station.  <OOPS!  Lance is showing his age!>

What a bummer of a way to say g'nite.  Tried to upload this photo - no can do.  Anyway here it is:

And along the same lines:
Have you heard that a company has come out with a new cell phone made just for senior citizens?
It not only has bigger numbers, rotary dial and the best of all; it has less memory.

Just checking in to say hi to Lance and the Fag Hag brigade.  I'm sorry to hear of your friend's illness, Lance, but I'm glad that you are so kind to be helpful in his time of need.  [:)]
