Legislation isn't a magic wand.

Spain was in the news for all its green initiatives but now Spain is going broke because going ultra green is just not affordable. Spains' is the program that Obama says he wants us to copy just as we're teetering on the edge of insolvency ourselves.

Its madness.

For years Bush was blamed for Katrina and the after. Now it's a new president who is blamed for something he had nothing to do with.

Please man, we were watching people begging for help and President Bush seriously took his time, sending help.
Why are you trying to re-write history?
WE SAW what happened during hurricane Katrina.
We all saw those people on t.v. BEGGING for help, and "help" took around 3-4 days to be sent out.

Marini, because unfortunatley, they had to wait for the storm to subside. Hurricanes are not an hour long event.

Do honestly think Bush was evily just laughing at the people there?

Or that the roads and bridges into New Orleans were underwater, and there were a host of logistical problems, that should have been adressed beforehand(by New Orleans)? resulting in a horrible tragedy?

It wasn't an issue of sending help out. It was getting people out (over ten thousand of them).

Ok people, i was there. I know what happened.

1. people were told to get out.

2. The ones that went to the Superdome? it was a "shelter of last resort" Over and over they said there would be no food, water etc, there.They said bring food, water, medicine for at least 5 days. They said nothing would be provided there.

3. rescue planes and choppers were running non stop 24/7.

4. Do you know what it takes security wise to have a President land at an airport? air traffic is cleared, and so are all the runways etc..

5. do you know about the looting? about the roving bands of people armed with assault rifles shooting anything that moved? robbing and looting?

Do you know that the feds have to be invited/requested by the Gov? This is the south after all...parinoid about the federal gov. here...

Everyone has to stop what they are doing, and cater to the president if and when he arrives..

It wasn't just getting them out, it was where to put them once they got out!
