My neighbor says she uses SBC global and it's only 10 dollars a month. May look into that.

You could split that with her, get a wireless router, and share the signal.

That is the dial-up price.  Splitting it is unlikely even with a router.
Often ATT has under 20 bucks dsl deals going on.  But, you have to buy the modem (100-130 dollars), and you have to sign up for a year contract.  To qualify I think you have to be a first time client with them for dsl.

actually I think she has DSL, I don't know.

However, since most places want you to buy an expensive router, and then sign a contract and stuff, I think my little earthlink is a sweet deal lol.

the cheapest deal is 19.95.  But once again you have to buy the modem and sign up for a contract.
Sometimes you can find modems at yard sales when people switch over to higher speed (like I did) through cable modems.   Speedsteam modems are found all over for much lower prices than new with att.  Of course, you would be taking your chances on them being working models.
