Why do you start singing it? I've got it running through my head now. Curses!

Doesn't work for me, I'm afraid. It's time to reach for the Radiohead.

Well at least you thought of the German version and the English version.. makes for being able to sing it better... I love the German version.. got both on my PC though... I lived in germany for a few years, makes me feel like i'm back home again. Got my girls learning the German side of it, but they know the english one as well so they know what they're singing.

now wait a minute, I was told ( years ago on a radio show)  when you translate the german version it's quite different.  It supposidley goes something like this:
" 99 dead baboons sitting in my living room, this ones Jake, that ones Johnny, that  one over there is big Roger.....
not very functional, but quite a converstation piece"
That's about all of it I can remember  something else about no napkins, just wipe your hands on a dead baboon.
now what was that radio program....  hmmm......
o shoot,...
Maybe it wasn't the most reliable source of information, it was on Dr. Demento

Wow! This just might be the exception that proves LA's rule that if you start something with Am I the only one...The answer is always Yes.

Cin <~ who's glad she didn't get infected by the song-in-the-head bug

IDK, 7 Sseconds and Goldfinger have all done punk (in the case of Goldfinger, kind of a punk/ska combination) covers of 99 Luftballoons.  There are A LOT of covers of that song out there.

The English and German are quite differant in the song. It's painful they even consider it a "translation".
