Hello, all, I'm new to the scene, though I've been reading about it for years, and recently found out about bimonthly spanking parties in my area. They are just spanking parties, and ask that participants avoid other aspects of bdsm, but I was wonderint what to expect at a party like this??

Should I expect a big room with lots of people being upturned and paddled? I'll be going alone--is it likely I'll get to play, or just watch? WILL I get to watch?? *grins*

I was just wondering if anyone's had experiences in this area...it'll be my first time interacting in r/l with anyone in the scene at all, and I'm a little nervous and a lot excited! The party does sound really safe--there are supposed to be moderators who make sure people are using safe words, etc...

Oh, one other thing...if I do "play" is it reasonable to ask not to be made to take off my underwear *blushing*...I mean, I can't imagine being naked in a room full of people, but I don't want to be unreasonable either. Thanks!

I wouldn't suggest going to a party as your first interaction with others in the lifestyle - I would strongly advise that you go to a munch instead.

My guess is it will be mostly people socializing, talking, and then people coupling up and going off to do spanking scenes, possibly in some social areas, but possibly in private rooms if they are provided as well.

Spankophiles really are their own subset of kink and do not often interact with bdsmers in general. You won't be able to generalize much from this party into what the culture of bdsm is like.

Thanks for the heads up, LA--any idea why spankophiles don't interact much with the bdsm community??

Also, I should have been more clear--there is a munch before the party, that all newbies have to go to before their first party...what should i expect at the munch?

Glad to hear there is a munch first. You should expect a group of like minded people who are usually very friendly. Kinda like hanging out with a new group of friends. Things usually stay pretty clean at munches. (at least from my limited experience) Have fun.

It depends on where you are. There are some spanking groups wherein anyone who attends as a "spankee" is fair game to anyone who wishes to spank them, and it's all done in one room.

But it IS all about the spanking. I've yet to attend a Woodshed party, but I've read their flyers in the past, and it's not something I'm tremendously interested in attending.
