Dear John, I hope you can help me. The other day, I set off for work, leaving my husband in the house watching TV. My car stalled, and then it broke down about a mile down the road, and I had to walk back to get my husband’s help. When I got home, I couldn’t believe my eyes. He was in our bedroom with our neighbor’s daughter! I am 32, my husband is 34 and our neighbor’s daughter is just 19. We have been married for 10 years. When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted they had been having an affair for the past six months. He won’t go to counseling and I’m afraid I am a wreck and need advice urgently. Can you please help? What do I have to do? Sincerely Janice. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Dear Janice, A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the injectors. I hope this helps, John.

She should also check that the gas cap is in good condition and properly seated as most fuel systems are pressurized these days. That could also be responsible for stalling.

The pressure generated in the fuel tank is burned in the engine by the evaporative recovery system, required now on most vehicles by the EPA or equivalent govt agency. I would highly suspect the fuel pump in a modern vehicle. They are usually in the tank and have a screen. The screen can collapse after a short running time resulting in a severe drop in delivery. Also note that if this condition is not corrected quickly it will damage the pump because the pump depends on the constant flow and return through the pressure regulator for cooling. This problem can also be caused by a clogged fuel filter, which is much more easily accessible and should therefore be checked first, even though it is slightly less common. So basically she should tell her olman to get his nose out of that bitches crotch and check into these things so she can go to work and support his dead ass. T

Dear Janice, Did you check to make sure there was gas in the car before you left home? And was your husband the last one to drive it? Seems this happens to the milk or orange juice container also. You go to get a drink, the carton is in the fridge empty. Better also check who's been drinking the milk or the o.j. Sincerely, Me
