If you look at the diagram for how that particular cage collapses, it collapses to the inside - meaning a body cannot be present for the cage to come apart.
Trust me, it can't be done - i'm strong and determined - it is one of the few dog crates that does the job.
so now im curious - if you discovered you could get out, would you - im just thinking that if youre Master has put you in there then the mental bondage of that would keep you in - so is it more to do with the reality of being thoroughly caged and contained that is hot rather than the feeling - i could get out of here - and thus that feeling of being trapped vapourises or would the little demon in you wriggle out and beam a smile of satisfaction at him as he attempts not to choke on his sandwich [:D]
It would depend upon the Master, really - this did actually happen with my previous Master, where i discovered a way that i could get out (of the dungeon cage, of all things - the screws weren't tight). The way he was i waited until he was there and then pushed open the part where i could get out and gave him a bit of a mischevious smile - and then he said "Aha, i see that, oh no you don't" (smiling himself) and screwed it closed.
It doesn't have to be a big production, merely what communication works for the two involved.
