I cannot imagine ANY LIFESTYLE dominant telling someone that she had to be tributed and MAYBE there would be a relationship later.

LH, that .... WOULD be a first ..... [;)]

SO2, I know someone who did something similar, and I agree with LH that it was essentially a bait-and-switch or worse. I met him from another site when I was looking, about 5 years ago. He had started by paying a pro-Domme, and she had taken him on as her "submissive" and expected a certain number of hours of service from him, cleaning her house, driving her places, etc. She was not offering sex or play, but "allowed" him to date other women only if he could continue serving her. He was not up-front about the situation before we met for coffee, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

in a relationship ... i would expect to be totally committed, monogamous and exclusive. Focused totally on the one Lady.

Dare I ask, what would those indulgences involve?   Now, be careful not to say anything that'll shock me with your decadence, Lady N!

Eating like normal people instead of just lean meat and salad vegetables, basically.   For us that's decadent.

Lady N,

One day, I want you to come on here and post while rolling, ratarsed drunk. How much would that cost me?

Does a male being a client of a pro domme factor in to your determination if he would make a good submissive for you?  Do you see this as a criteria that you would consider when choosing a submissive much the same as you might have if you consider things like age, weight, marital status, etc?   Can it potentially disqualify someone for you?
A male having been a client of a pro domme, is not at all an issue for me...   However, if he comes with expectations that I shall dress/behave/dominate in the same manner that she did, it would be a problem and a mismatch, unless there is a woman out there who thinks a lot like me, and expects obedience.   Discussion is fine, final word is mine, even if I arrive at it from his good  information.

Considering someone who's seen a pro is about the same level as someone who's had an ex.    If he's still into her, he can keep walking; if he wants to submit to me, than, I expect open mind, and close attention paid to our conversations.

Marital status trumps pro domme relationship in my mind, simply because of my upbringing, and the fact that I cannot see a married man as anything other than potential useful, but already dominated by another legally.     M

MistressXbox -> RE: Clients - Good Sub Material Or No (6/25/2010 7:47:07 PM)

I'm not a professional, so I have no idea if clients can be good submissives outside of a paid session. I'd imagine that, just like in any group of people, there are positives and negatives riddled throughout the group. Surely some clients would be capable of and interested in a LTR with a Domme, and some would have neither the interest or ability.

FWIW, I've known some guys who are regular clients of professionals, and they turned out to be pretty big jerks overall. But I've also known a couple people -- even a couple of quite good friends -- who visit ProDommes regularly yet have also had successful LTRs with non-professional Dommes as well. (Not at the same time, I hope, without their Mistress's consent!)

I think every group has an undesired element in it somewhere, but I try to draw conclusions on a case-by-case basis (admittedly, this is not always easy to do!). It wouldn't be cool to let a few random bad apples spoil the whole bunch, though!

Edited to add:
P.S. Because I just realized I didn't answer the question :) It wouldn't necessarily ruin someone's chances with me, provided that they understand I would be treating them as a friend and as a submissive, not as a customer. Therefore they would be expected to reciprocate in the fulfillment of my fetishes and/or BDSM interests. It's all good as long as they understand the nature of the relationship.
