Oh, you have to love it.

Someone makes a completely nonsensical post with no basis in fact and here comes Firm to champion the one sentence of the post that had some loose basis in accuracy.

Oh nuts, that's what I get for believing in the Canadian Broadcasting Company government-owned news, guess I deserve a spanking for that one!

No rebuttal to the teleprompter crack, though? And still waiting for Gitmo to shut down, but you can keep Omar Khadr if you don't mind.

Regardless, I can't help but think you replaced one less-than-stellar President with another, and with Sarah Palin still being in contention, am awaiting the second coming of Dan Quayle. Seriously, in a country with a history of so many great thinkers, is this the best you can do?

Its too soon to judge Obama, because there is time to avert the damage his policies will cause. If they stand, then he will go down as the POTUS that destroyed everything that made the US great. Bush's most important actions were in the foreign policy/terrorism area, and Obama has done very little different, thus affirming that Bush was right all along.

Hmmmm!

So the near-collapse of the economy presided over by Bush was one of the things that made the U.S. great?

If you had a clue about economics youd learn to get off this rant. Youve been sliced and diced over it often enough.

Ohhhhh, Willbeurrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I see we're back to your usual responses that lack any semblance of an argument.

But hey, here I am if want to slice and dice me some more.

The fact is the economic crisis began under the Bush administration.

However you want to rationalize it does not change that fact.

A loose basis in accuracy does not define being accurate.

Do we really need to rehash the Guantanamo discussions?

What's not accurate?  And when have we ever "hashed" the Gitmo discussion?

My understanding was that Gitmo would be close within 12 months.  How many months has it been?

You want to say that it's "too difficult"?  What does that say about the leadership and experience level someone who promises that it will be done?

Or was he just lying to get elected?

Neither option reflects too favorably, I don't think.

This question derails threads too much. So let's address it head on.

1. Who do you believe is a better President - George W. Bush or Barack Obama?

2. What criteria do you use to determine what makes a good President?

3. What specific examples do you have to demonstrate that one person meets those criteria while the other does not?

4. Do you think that either Bush or Obama is an excellent President?

5. Do you think that either Bush or Obama is a horrible President?

1.  neither

2.  honesty, intregrity, follows the rule of law, has values, good organizer, good communicator, sees the job as a service s/he owes to the nation, interested in obtaining all the details, doesnt make backroom deals, keeps 100% of promises

3.   I dont think any politicians that can do it

4.   neither

5.  no   they are about average

I do think we should go back to the days when an ELECTED/APPOINTED (as opposed to hired employees) public servant didn't get paid for his service.  I think we would get a better quality of leadership that way.  They would be more motivated to do a good job.    just one man's opinion

Surprisingly that time would be never.

he's a Democrat with opposing views and aspiration to the Republican controled senate( remember checks and balences? senate has more power to put a stop to things than the president does), who seem to try to put a hault to many things he tries to accomplish, as per stated in your most recent post. yeah....i'd like to see anybody pull off keeping their promises with those Vegas odds.
