Then Jim showed up.[8|]

He gave an update on my condition as a compliant patient ("Get my ass the fuck outta here, damnit!!!") and referred to me as Walking Chaos

Actually I'm a happy drunk, the life of the party. I think this is the lack of sleep more than anything, a long nap and I'll be fine. The problem is more that it's been a long time since I've had any wine; I'm just not used to it.

Zeph...i can (and have) downed a fifth of vodka without acting drunk or feeling it the next day.
But a few glasses of wine and i am shit-faced, then lethargic the next day. And if i drink a few glasses of water i get drunk all over again.

Adding finely-ground hazelnuts to plain coffee does not result in hazelnut coffee....it also blocks the filter, meaning that the coffee (used in its broadest sense) takes forever to filter through.
for you people that have a desire to RUIN a good cup of coffee...

One (I said ONE, damnit) drop of extract to the bottom of the coffee filter before you add the coffee you are about to screw up. The easiest way is to turn the filter upside down and add the ONE drop, then let it absorb for a minute or two.

Start with Almond extract, or Vanilla because almost everyone has them on hand (bet Zeph doesn't, but thats not the point). If you don't like the result, you are not stuck with a new bottle of extract.

That's the thing, Hols, I wasn't shitfaced, not even close. As I said, I only got 3 hours of sleep, the drinking was at a surprise B'Day party for my Dad (pulled off beautifully) and I only got home after midnight and got to sleep at about 1 am then Maggie woke me at 5 am. In between she woke me at least twice.

Seriously? You get drunk all over again if you drink water?

Yeah....but my dad was the same way. There is something about wine that i can't handle. I heard it had to do with liver function, but really i have no clue. All i know is i cannot have wine, ever.

I'm the complete opposite, wine or beer (depending how fast I drink it) takes forever to hit, but I should never be allowed anywhere near hard liquor....ever.

You are like most people....stopping short of saying you are normal, of course.

I have wondered though...i have ADHD and many medications have a paradoxical/opposite effect. Perhaps it has that effect on alcohol as well.

I will deny being any kind of normal....not even close. I do know that one of my meds doubles the effects of alcohol but that's all alcohol. Could be the same for you.

*adores Holly*

regarding your current alcohol debate I discover here, I get easily drunk...at times 1 or 2 glasses are enough to feel the effect and it quite frankly doesn't matter much what I am drinking...in my case it has to do with drinking next to nothing most of the time...

That being said...I am going to get a lil bit drunk this thursday after handing in dissertation...as I neeeeeeeeeeed to unwind after all that uni stress and still have a bottle of stuff here which I got at the secret santa event from my placement (that being said, I need to make sure to be able to hand it in on thursday instead of friday, to be able to do so [8|] and have to stay a lil bit within reason as going to work on friday with a severe headache is not my kink [&o]).

And as I am working all weekend and also friday afternoon...I would have to use thursday to celebrate in my chaos [:)]

As will I one week from this Wednesday although in my case it will be to unwind from job stress plus celebrate the beginning of my two-week vacation. I have a great bottle of wine I'm keeping just for the occasion.

zephhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i found you!

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: Things I Have Learned (6/20/2010 9:05:51 AM)

Not difficult, all you had to do was....oh, I don't know....TEXT me?! [;)] Which reminds me:

I have learned that the iphone is freaking awesome! I looooooove my phone!

sophiesback -> RE: Things I Have Learned (6/20/2010 9:06:51 AM)

apple Iphone???

If so I got that too last week...but after about 2 days I now missplaced it [:(] It is somewhere in my room...I guess...

I dreamed that I dropped it in the river...and I am pretty confident that this stayed in my dream and does not mean I flushed it down the toilet whilst sleepwalking or so...

I just got lovely covers delivered for it...but still need my phone to put it in there [>:]

hope to find it AFTER dissertation (gave up by now to find it before then, no time left to search any more right now [&o])
