Imagine one day a new drug is invented - some sort of panacea that could not only cure but also prevent almost most or even all diseases. What would happen? We would have a healthy people enjoying all the benefits of health and longevity AND we would have millions of jobless doctors and pharmacists. We would see giant losses of profits in all pharmaceutical and medical companies. They would never be able to make the same profits from this one medication as they made from selling thousands of different medications and infinite medical interventions. Of course, objectively, the chances of inventing such panacea medication are extremely low - if not impossible. However, can it be that even attempts to achive something that would lead in that direction are slowed down or stopped because of the fear of loss of profits. After all, the healthy people, the less disease and the less job (and profit) for doctors, pharmacists and pharmaceutical companies.
