I saw a video with a Domme using an electrical fly swatter on her sub. Does anyone have any experience using one / recommendations for models? Would it be dangerous in any way?

We've played with electric fly swatters. As with all electrical toys we confine their use to below the waist, mainly on legs. They give a quick 'zap'. As far as I know they all work about the same. You can find them at Harbor Freight Tools for $1.99 when they are on sale. They also work for zapping flies.

I have played with them. As always with electricity via a TENS unit, Violet Wand, Electronic Fly Swatter, the key is that the path of the electricity should not cross the heart. I have purchased and built a tazer from an electronic fly swatter. While it doesnt get used during play, my sub is more than willing for it to be used as a punishment. Apparantly it can pack quite a wallop Instructions for building one. I'm so glad you guys brought this up. I am very limited on funds, and passed one in the grocery store the other day, and immediately visualized visiting its fury upon the virgin ass of some unfortunate victim. I am quite wary of electrical toys and their dangers, however.

Easy toy and cheap to find. Just be aware that you don't hit hard with this thing. The shock actually only happens when the metal is near your skin, not on it.

Excellent advice, thank you guys. I have a little experience with the violet wand and TENs so I am aware of the below the waist rule - not that it hurts to be reminded! The dom in the video hit the subs nipples with the swatter but I don't think I'll do that because of that guideline.

The AA and 9-volt ones deliver a little zap but the D battery types give you a pretty dang good poke. A note of caution....my son used to like to chase me through the house with them and nailed me once on my funny bone and although the hit wasn't hard, the charge was pretty intense....I ended up with numbness in my fingers for a couple of weeks.

I definitely won't use it on any joints! I got a shock from my open computer the other day right down my elbow and I couldn't lift weights for a week XD

The ones from Harbor Freight are cheap, but I don't think they're the best for play. They have a grid between two layers of bars. You have to hit hard enough for the flesh to get up between the bars and contact the grid. They're great for actually swatting flies, though. The first electric fly swatter I got maybe a dozen years ago just had a row of bars. You could get a zap with just the slightest touch. Much better for play. It sucked for swatting flies, though, because they'd usually just pass between the bars.

I agree with Nyckname. i have both types. the single layer one , i bought from the stockroom ( they no longer carry it from what i see) is the better of the 2 types for playing around. one note on the ones at harbor frieght, the one i bought from them was 2 D cells, not AA like the ad said. it didn't bother me that it was 2 D cells, but it does have a bit more of a bite. But you do have to hit harder then the single layer ones. one interesting side effect is if the area you hit has hair, like a male thigh. if you hit , keep it on and drag it slightly the smell of singed hair can be noticed , My ex GF used to like to do that because at times if it was dark enough you could see the little glow of the hair as it gets singed

I strongly recommend Ms. Toy's TAZapper for this kind of play... It has been specifically designed to zap people and does it well. It's more expensive (around $40) but it's well made, packs a punch, and is designed to be safe (no pesky burns like when one of those fly swatters gets low on juice). Google for it and you'll find a number of links... This isn't an ad, but I've tried a number of electrical toys and I'm pretty certain this ones the best for beginners... And a number of experienced people keep one handy, too!

I don't use electric fly zappers. My yorkie is a major fly zapper.

Of course it can be dangerous, it is an electrical thing not meant to be used as a toy. You can also get piezo-electric mosquito bite zappers off ebay (13kv 0.7ma) for about $20 and are generally safe to use above the waist - although I would personally avoid most of the chest area.

My friends and I had a good five minutes dicking around trying to see who would touch elbows to it, etc. with one of these that we bought at academy sports for like 4 bucks, it was a lot more snarky than I thought it would be...I guess flys are hard to kill. Never had it used on me while restrained, though.

Fly zappers are EVIL! No thanks. But they are very effective with NO effort. It is a high voltage shock, but very low amps so it's pretty safe; kinda like a strong static shock. The electricity is only passing through a very small area of skin.

I'd like to note that the different battery types shouldn't make a difference on the strength of the paddles, it's the setting of the capacitor that charges up to zap you. the stronger batteries should just make the thing charge faster. I think, not sure, but think, that the setting on the paddles with the parallel bars is lower than the one with the mesh screens for safety reasons, because the mesh screens usually short out a zap unless you stick a finger through it. Another good thing to know about these is that because it's a capacitor that the zap comes from, it will hold a slowly diminishing charge for a few seconds after you let go of the charging button, so you can give a less intense shock if you wish. and as always, for safety, don't use on people with heart problems, a pacemaker, pregnancy, and be wary of using it above the waist.

You have to removed 'some' of the grid on one side if the swatter. Then you have no problem getting skin contact.
