I'd like to note that the different battery types shouldn't make a difference on the strength of the paddles, it's the setting of the capacitor that charges up to zap you. the stronger batteries should just make the thing charge faster. I think, not sure, but think, that the setting on the paddles with the parallel bars is lower than the one with the mesh screens for safety reasons, because the mesh screens usually short out a zap unless you stick a finger through it. Another good thing to know about these is that because it's a capacitor that the zap comes from, it will hold a slowly diminishing charge for a few seconds after you let go of the charging button, so you can give a less intense shock if you wish. and as always, for safety, don't use on people with heart problems, a pacemaker, pregnancy, and be wary of using it above the waist.
