Without it you just can't win.

I don't think that factionalization of the party means much for Obama in November, but it does make a huge difference the rest of the year. Namely, whether his legislation gets passed. In this partisan political climate, there are few bills that will get bipartisan support, so he needs a cohesive majority party to pass anything.

I don't think it would matter which party Obama belonged to, his "philosophy" is just devisive anyway. Also like Bush he's just not a "likeable" figure.
