One night, I took a bad step backing down a flight of metal stairs, came down flat on my left ankle, and dislocated it, tearing the ligaments in the process. The pain and shock made me yank my foot up, which relocated the ankle.

Thats horrific. I think I would have blacked out. Hope its much better now

Ok- but no pills?  Shots? creams?

Steroids?   Anti-biotics?   Did they find any infection?

No shots, no creams, steroids or antibiotics. We are on an economy drive over here. Politicians expenses, allowances and bonuses must be found somehow.

No infection either.

I declined the pills, as somehow, it does not hurt much

Ok.  I am not a medical pro.  Tho have had my share of injuries.

I was worried about infection via the pic.

I am glad you got treated.  :-)

Thanks PA, this morning, much of the swelling has gone down, probably because I have confined myself to home and garden.

Be sure to get the swelling down by elevating that that foot up. I had stress fractices before, they did hurt like crazy.

Depends where you live, and what time you go in.  I've arrived at late morning to mid afternoon weekdays and weekends to find few, if any, in the waiting room.

Oh yeah, Holly's right - I've rolled in there with asthma attacks and I was taken back within minutes.

5 to 6 hours wait in the ER ? Do you live in Canada ? If I were you I would get it taken care of before Obama care starts. It might be an even longer wait.
