Aussie PM Kevin Rudd has like 20 something percent approval rate, and in about an hour his own party is going to convene to decide whether to vote him out to replace him with his Deputy PM Julia Gillard, who would be in a position to become Australia's first female PM. Mainly because Rudd is so fail that there's no way he could get re-elected.

To be honest Australian politics are nowhere near as interesting as American politics, but I sort of dislike everything about this guy. He appointed Stephen Conroy, Douchebag Extroardinare, to censor the internet, he's trying to get into carbon trading which nobody wants to do but him, he's a bitch for amnesty, according to my husband he's been messing with superannuation policy.

I just think it's kind of cool that in Australia if the PM sucks their party can say "sorry you're not PM anymore we're putting this one in instead."

And just to give this topic more replies - if this could be done in the US would you replace Obama with Clinton?

Rudd stood down. After he did a tough talk interview about not standing down.

I guess it's sort of history making that Australia has its first female PM but I don't know if it counts if she didn't get elected by the people.

I would replace Obama with Clinton and Rudd with Gillard – it appears both were very popular and both have been disappointing. I wonder who will show up in Toronto for the G20.

If it could be done here, they would replace him with the vp, not Clinton. And no I wouldn't do it.

Not a bit surprised that you didn't name your own PM. Do you ever think about your own country or are you too fixated on others to worry about that?

I don't like that system of representation, but since we're kicking around hypotheticals - yes, if that were our system of government, I would  gladly replace Obama with Clinton.

I got an automated call from the Rassmussen poll last night asking a bunch of questions regarding Obama.
