Looks like it

Meet Tim Scott.

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20100623/D9GGNAEG0.html

"Scott picked up key national endorsements, including one from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin."

And this:

"Scott promises to dismantle the new federal health care law he says costs too much and is unconstitutional. He promises to cut federal spending and simplify a federal tax code he says is the product of too much lobbying and too many lawyers."

BUT BUT BUT... That sounds like the Tea Party and he's he's he's____ and their racist!

This must be a Republican trick!!!

It has been a few years, Ken. JC Watts was the last, leaving office as the class of '03 came in. It seems there was another from the 90's but his name escapes.

Considering that blacks identify as Democrat/lean democrat damn near 3/1, and vote Democrat in the high 80% range, why would it be surprising that we might go a few years without such representation in Congress? The pool ain't all that big.

Or are you just hoping for a chance to snap down that race card a-quivering in your hand?

Tim called me again sunday night and thanked me for a campaign idea I e-mailed into his site last week and he said when he gets to Washington ,"I'm gonna give 'em hell!"
It'll be fun having him for a congressman!

Right up until the first lobbyist stuffs his pockets with cash and explains how he can get even more of it if he just does what he's told....

Is that how they do it in Canada?

Tell me... who s the lobbyist who is stuffing money into the pockets of Ron Paul or Rosco Bartlett? And I am sure there are others on the democrat side not being bought either.

Oh and Arpig... seems like you left off the word "boy" after told.

That's the great vthing about the United States, we have our revolutions at the ballott box and there's one shaping up this fall.

FDD, I think that you left out the word "black", as in South Carolina's 1st black GOP Congressman...

I think it's kind of cool that the GOP is getting more diverse.

No. I'm just pointing out that a single black republican running for office doesn't do anything to change the well earned reputation of the GOP and the tea party types.

Perhaps you're thinking of Gary Franks from CT?

I told him he should get a press picture of all the Dems jumping to their feet and applauding Mexican president Calderone while he insulted our country our laws and one of our states and have it blown up into a giant poster and hang it up on the stage behind him when he speaks.
He said; "Now that's a brilliant idea!" "There's the Democrats for ya!"

I wonder if they'll let him join any of their racist clubs, like the Congressional Black Caucus?

That's who I was thinking of, Steve. Thanks. I had the name "Foster" in my head, but I knew that wasn't right.

An interesting situation should pop up.....

Either Scott will join the Congressional Black Caucus where he`ll be welcomed or.....he`ll reject that caucus.I don`t think they`ll reject him for being a republican.

It`ll be interesting how that plays out, considering all the bad mouthing repugs and cons do to the CBC.
