ORIGINAL: Toppingfrmbottom Cynthia, that's nasty, someone should tell the health boards or something lol. That sure would explain why it's so nasty though lol. Thanks for telling me, even if it now does make me want to second guess the desire to go there and have a drink hehehe. The Health Dept. is grossly underfunded and understaffed. It used to be that anyone working around food had to be checked for communicable diseases even if they only served soda from a fountain, scooped icecream, and handed over bags of chips. Back then, they could catch it if someone had hepatitis or something. Also, when I was in California, I used to call the Health Dept. when...ham in omelettes burned my mouth like jalapeno peppers, and when blueberries in IHOP pancakes were horribly fermented...the only thing that happened was someone made a note of it. I even had a guy argue with me over what was wrong in the pancakes, the health dept. guy kept insisting that they must have been leaving out the blueberries again, and I...kept saying the batter had to be left out and batter has EGGS, whether dried and reconstitued or fresh. As a special treat, if you're ever in WV, you should see the fast food places. Debris from tables is picked up, but the tables are not wiped. It's common to sit down to one and see dried out sugar rings from hours ago soda pop. From the McDonalds in Welch, mom and I watched a girl go into a toilet and clean it, then come out with the same rag (not even a bleachy smell, lol, probably just water) and wipe down the sink area...THEN go out to the tables and used that rag to clean off all the tables. Yeah...we've come a long way baby. I often long for the good old days when food servers had to wear hair nets and wipe down tables with bleach water, and were actually trained to do the job right.
