Unfortunately, the majority of the people on the internet cannot read well and have poor reading comprehension. This is because the majority of people overall have poor reading ability. This is shown test after test, poll after poll. Just over half of people who have *graduated from college with at least a bachelors* can tell you accurately what a newspaper editorial was talking about. People who have some considerable amount of post-secondary education as a whole can barely understand the English a grade school graduate should have mastered.
That being said, you also have to consider that most of the people who *can* read are intellectually lazy. Think of all the people have you encountered who strayed away from "difficult" topics to avoid the mental effort.
So even assuming everyone is educated, half of them simply have no real understanding of what was written in your profile. Most of the other half is too mentally sluggish to understand what foolishness they are undertaking.
Take solace in science. It confirms with evidence and proof that they (most people out there) are imbeciles.

P.S. Some *coughcough* "Doms" think being a pushy prick makes them Dominant. You see, in their wee brains, only a few neurons can fire at once. When they think of the words "dominant" (which is awfully long and has terribly many syllables), they think of being an asshole. It's unfortunately the most complex motivation their mind can muster in a go. Remember, science is the asnwer! ;)
