So did anyone else catch word of this one? 11 hours 5 minutes long. Final score in the 5th set 70-68 Isner winning. Now, I'm not a huge tennis fan in general. I like it, sure, don't get me wrong, I even played in Jr. High and High School. But this was insane. The 5th set alone was over 8 hours long. They had to stop the match and continue the next day due to darkness... twice. To put it into perspective, you could have flown from New York to London and still caught 3+ hours of the match. The Isner v. Mahut match alone would be a 3 dvd set. The previous record for longest match in history was around 6.5 hours, about 2 hours shorter than the 5th set alone in this match. I can't even imagine how much their legs, arms and backs are killing them right now. Isner may not go on to win at Wimbledon but to both he and Mahut, kudos! They both showed true championship stuff there and should be proud.
