I openly admit though that the labeling of people as a disability rather than as a person is something that bothers me and I speak up against everywhere.
My late husband lost his legs and was in a wheelchair for the most part.
I recall going off on a young doctor because he referred to Mick as an "amputee" and his post-surgical limb as a "stump".
Mick was a man, not a medical condition. He did not have a stump, he had a leg...not a complete leg, but a leg none the less.
As funny as it sounds, that doctor was more handicapped than his patient.

Holly,
As always, your sense of decency and rightness puts others to shame. Thank you for sharing this. If only we were all like you!

Best,
sunshine

I keep expecting this thread to have something about "A sub with one leg walks into a bar..."

I just don't see a reason for pointing out that you met a nice woman who had one leg. Or one arm, or in a wheelchair or blind or any other number of possible physical handicaps. Had the post been from someone who had some kind of physical disability with them saying how much they are still able to enjoy life, perhaps it could have a positive effect. Written by someone who doesn't have a physical disability, but simply had an experience with someone who did just screams of ignorance on the part of the OP. It's like saying he had no idea that someone with some physical issue could lead a fufilling life. To me the post comes from a point of ignorance and bigotry.

People with disabilities live fufilling lives every day doing and enjoying many of the same things as any "normal" person. They run, they ski, they do whatever they want. I don't see someone who has an artificial limb reading this post and going "Wow, I can have a fufilling BDSM life if I want even though I'm missing a limb."

I was waiting to hear from you Steven.  Some of the ladies in here think my simple post has some deep social meaning that requires a entire round table discussion of the major social issues facing our society.
I was just relating a good time with a very special lady that happened to have a missing leg.

Its interesting to me to see the different personalities that emerge here.  Now instead of talking about my post, they are talking to each other and enjoying power exchanges.   I have read these post a few times and I find something I like about every person that has posted here.  My God Steven!.. There are some smart women here. Even the mean ones.

Leave it to you Dark Steven to see the fun side of my post Just as it was intended.   I was counting on that type of response from you .. I just wish the ladies could lighten up just a little and see the happy, joyful,  positive side of my post.   Take Care, Vince

Now, because I'm kind of perverse... Am I the only one who thought of the Sopranos and the Russian gal saying to Janet "Give me back my leg, you bitch."

It would seem I am... *sigh* Zat's uh kay!

If I need to identify a person who is missing a limb to another person, there's no doubt that I would include "One Leg" or "One Arm" in the description. Why? Because it's a defining physical characteristic of the person. No different than if they had purple hair, a large amount of freckles on their face or walked with a limp.

It would mean nothing negative. It's just a fact.

If you were pointing out another person, yes. Such as: The black gentleman in the purple shirt, the lady in the wheelchair, the blonde with the tiger tattoo, but to put that as a descriptor in a post about meeting? No.

And that is common sense.

But she did not have a missing leg, did she? She wore a prosthetic limb. So in your description of her, you would still describe her as missing a limb?
If you did, it certainly would strike me as negative

Excellent clarification. If the unique physical trait was not obvious, I would not use it in my description. I do not describe my friend Luke as "One Ball" Luke when referring about him to others. I would consider that wrong.

I only do it when the waitress comes over to take our order.

Holy Fuck. The post is about spanking a one legged woman. Take out any reference to the woman having one leg and the post goes from interesting to a total waste of cyber space. Go ahead re read it.

The post becomes: "I met a girl at Applebee's. I spanked her often. She really liked it. Then she moved away.

This is: Off Topic Discussions

And it's absolutely ok to point out on a dopey message board that you spanked an anonymous one legged woman.
