After seeing glimpses of the soccer play, I have this to say - the USA has vastly improved sports. We sped up soccer and made it interesting to get football. We sped up cricket's interminable pace to get baseball. There have been valid criticisms of our focus on getting results right NOW - this quarter, right away... But that approach sure works in sports!

HAH rounders became baseball , not cricket and rounders is about 500 years old http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rounders Can you do something with golf???

Baseball is the most mindnumbingly boring sport in the entire world. You can not name a less interesting sport. Not snooker, not tiddlywinks, not...whatever the fuck that one with the sliding stones on ice is. Gridiron is like some unhappy medium of football and rugby....mixed the two to ill effect, not as good as either. And you guys REAAALLY need to get promotion&relegation already. And stop having teams called [town] [something about magic or dragons or wizards here], that are nothing to do with [town] and are often based not even in the same state.... You should go with basketball as an example of american sport, the others are awful...

Sped up soccer? It takes forever to get from one end of the field to the other in football.

I thought that too, I've ended up seeing some to get to the half time show.....they seem to stop playing every 20 seconds.

And that's when things go well. I think it's probably possible to go out to do some shopping, come back and they still won't have made it to the goal.

Some sports definately are not for watching, they do not come across well on tv, but perhaps for those that like sport, the truth is sport is for playing, not watching.
