A UK man has died following a sado-masochistic sex session with a woman who boasts she is 'Europe's most perverted dominatrix'. Status: offline 		I presume it would inspire people to tone down their untrained administering of nitrous oxide, particularly during physically demanding scenes, presuming that really was the main cause of this terrible accident.

For news of this incident to 'tone down [one's] sadism' would be a bit like someone who hears of an accidental food poisoning and in response, stops eating so often.

Status: offline 		Ridiculous it may be. i m sure this Lady in question Ms Lucrezia did not mean it to happen. But it did . The point is accidents can happen. The question is Should we be more safety conscious regarding play or do we accept that accidents can happen and carry on regardless. Thanks for Your contribution

Status: offline 		On reflection You are right. The administering of nitrous oxide was pretty idiotic on the part of the Domme. i would hope most sane people would know not to do this to a client, slave, sub, whatever

They can. Safety is key. But even when everyone is being safe and making sure nothing can go wrong, something can go wrong. Hell, you could get hit by a car crossing the street, and in fact, I'm sure the proportion of pedestrian deaths vs s&m related deaths are disproportioned, even per capita.

Bottom line, I'm not going to stop living my life out of fear that something might go wrong. I will continue however to use caution and good judgement, whether I'm crossing the street or torturing my man.

Status: offline 		At the moment, they do not know the exact cause of death, but nitrous oxide could have been a contributing factor in any number of ways.

One does not need to be at the hands of a professional extreme sadistic dominatrix for there to be an accident during play.
Usually the end results are not fatal but it is something have an awareness of.
There are risks in doing what we do.

People can argue that there are risks in getting out of bed in the morning, or crossing the street and that is true, but it is highly unlikely that anyone would ever be arrested for them.

Of course I hope all works out fairly and honestly for all of those involved. It is a tragedy...just hope he was enjoying himself.

Status: offline 		I won't because I don't do anything dangerous. This is edge play, and She just went over the edge I think. Since the clients were expecting some action it's partly their problem as well. I'm not judging, I just think that everyone was aware of the risks. I'm just not in that kind of play. I just hope they won't be punished harther just because they're Domms. I'm from Belgium, and know they should receive a punishement valuable if they do the same facts in the future. Which means they would go to jail effectively whenever they have a simular problem in the near future (next 5, 10 years).

Status: offline 		You're jumping the gun here Kevin. They were arrested for assault, not murder. Until that autopsy is in, we don't know if anything other than consentual bdsm occurred.

Status: offline 		Im sorry Ma'am but i never said what they were arrested for .  i never said that they were arrested for murder or assault. Read my post. READ my POST.  And read again. It states nothing about arrest assault or murder. Ok there is mention of an autopsy in my post but that is just a report which i copied and pasted from the web not my view at all

Status: offline 		Nope - I'm not all that sadistic to begin with ... but even with multiple stories of scenes gone wrong, that would be like saying that because orgasm can trigger a stroke for some people (yes, it can - cant' remember the scientific term, but it can), I'm not going to have sex anymore. Yes, things can happen - yes, you should do what you can to prevent things from going wrong ... but seriously? If I do that, then I might as well just dig a hole in the ground and finish my (brief, if I actually do this) life out hiding from the sun (omg, skin cancer!!), not eating (what if it has pesticides/carcinogens/whatever in it!!), and basically being paranoid about every damn thing.

I choose to live - not hide, thank you. Simply waking up in the morning is a risk - I will not hide because something *might* go wrong.

Status: offline 		I want to say this right off.  This...is a terrible thing to have happened. 
 
My concern for safeties is already so high that most people chuckle and think I'm being too paranoid.  I'm just used to life doing...unexpected things...and I want to be prepared.
 
I think the real question here is would I ever endanger someone in this way...and my answer is no. 
 
The BMW guy might have been doing this with them many times without harm, and had one bad reaction, maybe unrelated to any BDSM. 
 
He was in the bathroom alone.  What if he took too many pain meds or something?  What if he had a slip and fall and bashed his head on the bathroom sink...we can only speculate until the autopsy, and nothing will bring the poor man back to life.

No.  This news story is not going to change the way I practice sadism.  Until the autopsy is complete, nobody really knows at this point if it was the actual play involved or the nitrous oxide that killed this man.  Most likely, it was the latter.

Yes, there are cases where people have died as a direct result of BDSM.  There absolutely are some kinks out there that I don't participate in because I don't believe that the risks are worth it.  The chances of killing someone with a dragon's tongue just aren't that high in My opinion.
