That you whine and complain about the money spent, then you whine and complain about the damage, then you toss in a few conspiracy theories that have no backing, and try and connect the two as some big government cover up to justify the cost.

When you actually live in a city that hosts such an event, walk around, test the waters as i did, and then you MAY understand the cost and the tension.

really, pa, you whine about the craziest of things at times.

Why would someone bring their wife into a knowingly dangerous event?

For politicians, every event can be knowingly dangerous. Its part of the job. Which is why so much money is spent on security.

You people missed the most significant aspect of the G20 summit. Everyone but Obama said NO to more stimulus spending. Everyone else realizes that sooner or later you have to face the consequences of bad economic policies, deal with the underlying causes, and let the economy slowly work it's way out. Welfare, Spending and creating government jobs only gets you in deeper for the long term. Look at Greece and California.

Obama is in a unique position though. He knows that if the unemployment rate remains above 8% during each election, the democrats will lose seats, and eventually he will be booted out of office too. He's extremely desperate and is willing to spend anything it takes for his own personal gain. That is absolutely pathetic.

The Roman's tried Stimulus Packages. They were called "Bread and Circuses".

Almost all of the "Bread and Circuses" guys ended badly. The Last were dragged from the orgy by their ankles and put to the sword on the public though fare.

I know, that's what makes it so much fun.

We can make up all kinds of interesting theories that we don't have to prove, because after all, the truth may never be revealed.

Yes- but if you love your wife- why would you bring her into the danger zone?

Leave her at home all the time? Protect her by keeping her in seclusion during the term of service? Do you know any woman, outside of the lifestyle, that would tolerate that?

You tell Michelle she cant go anywhere, ok?

Most men do not take their wife with them to work.

If they are working - there really should not be the distraction.

So again- they love their wife- but bring them into harms way.   hmm

These men have no days off. When they leave the office, the office follows them home. Is it your supposition that we elect only single men? Get a grip pa. This is quickly becoming one of your most ignorant comments.

IF i had a wife, i would ensure she had proper protection. But i would not allow a job to interfer in the marriage aspect, which is the way most political leaders think.

The g20 meets too often.  It should be disbanded.

There was a very small group in black ski masks. The rest of the protest (about 10000 people) was totally peaceful. I would no rule out the possibility the riot was organized by the security services. It is quite standard method to create fear and discourage people to come out protesting.

I'd agree that the vast majority demonstrate peacefully.

But there is a hardcore among them commited to finding a solution in violence.....as with any group.

So because this is not acceptable to "you", protestors should be allowed to be as violent as they wish and the cops should just smile and pass out roses to one and all.

Tell you what. send me your address. Ill gather some college kids and we will drive to your house, protesting your accumulation of gold and silver, and "demonstrate" as these kids know how... by destroying what you possess.

Thats pretty much what you are saying is perfectly reasonable to you, pa.

The more often they meet the better. Maybe Obama will actually listen to them once when they tell him that "stimulus packages" dont work.
