I used to have 46' inch bar, but my girlfriend (now ex threw it out) It was made by kinkyshop. They went out of business and the largest bar I can ever find seems to be 36 or 37 inches. Just not really wide enough to keep a sub from being able to close her knees together.

Anyone know where I can get a larger one? around around 44-50 inches? Anyone out there who might make one?

The one from kinkyshop was just the best ever, you could move attachments anywhere on it, inch by inch.

Buy a 4 foot piece of wood dowelling (sp?) and two screw in eye hooks. Cut the dowelling to the correct length taking into consideration the extra two inches for the length of the screw in eye hooks on each end. Sand the edges of the ends of the dowelling a bit to be sure there are no rough edges for splinters. Screw the eye hooks into the centre of each end. One spreader bar made to order. You can stain or paint the wood if desired.

I've made several in different lengths. I like the one inch dowelling.

Thanks so much for the information, but that sounds like I will just slice one of my thumbs off. I live in Manhattan, have no tools, or any actual ability to use them even if i did have them ;)

Some major hardware stores will cut things to size for you, which would leave really minimal work (I know the Lowe's by me has cut many things for a negligible fee)

Wow, your sub must have awfully long legs. Or maybe she's doublejointed or something. I can't put my knees together if my feet are spread apart with any more than about 28 or 30 inches between them.

In any case, you could just order her to keep her knees apart- with or without the use of a spreader bar. Just sayin'.

i love the idea of making custom made tools so long as they appear well made and look decent, i have been looking into floggers made with a swivel-type handle that can be used on diferent types made on an O ring,like rope,leather,nylon etc. Has anyone made anything else that works well? ~ jewels

My girl can't completely get her knees together at 36" either, but she can bring them in enough to give her pussy quite a bit of defense. I wouldn't mind a longer spreader bar either.

I just measured, and I can get my knees down to a 3" gap when my feet are 36" apart. Perhaps putting the ankle cuffs at the tops of her calves, if they're big enough, would prevent that? Dreamer, I'm usually pretty good at holding still, but some things are just overwhelming. I have to be completely immobilized for knife play, since the blade sometimes tickles unexpectedly!

You may want to consider a 4' length of 1" steel pipe and 8' of chain.  Slip the chain through the pipe and connect the two ends of the chain along the outside of the pipe with a snap ring, carabiner, or other connector.  This provides a heavy spreader that will help to limit your subs movements that is also highly adjustable as you can clip their ankle cuffs anywhere along the chain with double ended snaps.  For comfort you may want to consider covering the pipe with foam pipe insulation followed by a layer of vet wrap or bondage tape, and using a plastic/rubber coated chain. 

Even in Manhattan you should be able to find everything in a local hardware store, and I believe Home Depot has even opened stores there as well.  This is a no tools required solution, and should leave your thumbs intact.

Pipe doesn't usually come with holes in it...
Unless you mean slip the pipe through a link in the chain.

For thos of us handy go out and get a cheap spring shower rod preferably without any plasticised coating unscrew it completely apart remove the spring and drill holes at 1 inch intervals on each side big enough to drope a pin through that can be secured with a cotter pin attach your cuffs to the end and you have a spreader bar that can be adjustable up to 60 inches in my case lol

That's a great idea and they make them for shower stalls not just tubs as well ~ jewels

I wish i could say it was all my idea jewels but it wasn't I saw a guy that was selling short ones online for 40$ a piece one of my friends got one from him and when I took a closer look I figured out what it was after I noticed a part of the spring still on the one piece. When I did mine I took the spring out of it and put it back together in the closed position then drilled the first holes on a drillpress then i put the pin through the first hole and did the rest at 1 inch spaces I think mine goes out to 60 inches it might be longer because I used a tub length rod I am not sure with out getting my lazy butt up and going to get a tape measure and the bar out of the closet. Also instead of a pin that you put a cotter pin through I have a hole in the pin big enough to put a luggage lock through. Funniest thing was a guy asked me why i had such a long speader bar and i gave him a demonstration. I handcuffed his girls hands in front of her and then extended the bar just past her arms reach and put one end on his subs collar and attatched the other end to his whipping post and hung the keys to her handcuffs on the snap on the whipping post end and told her she could let herself go if she could get the keys she struggled for about 10 minutes before she managed to figure out if she stepped closer to the post it gave her the extra inch she needed lol.
