Well now we have proof that Obama lied about cancelling NAFTA or at least renegotiating it. I knew as soon as the election was over you wouldn't hear another word about NAFTA. This guy is every bit as bad as Bush is, and worse, since Bush never lied about his support of free trade agreements. Obama just announced his intentions to sign a South Korean Free Trade Deal which would be the largest deal since Clinton signed NAFTA.

In case you are wondering why free trade agreements are bad for America it's quite simple. There's no possible way we can compete with 3rd world labor costs unless we lower ourselves to their standard of living. Think about it. If they can ship a product overseas and still sell it cheaper than we can make it here, there's no possible way we are going to come out on top. If you need more proof, consider this. The best economy we had in recent history was during the Clinton administration, which was the beneficiary of trickle down economics from the Reagan administration. It always takes 5 to 10 years for the results of ecnomic policies and free trade agreements to reveal themselves. Clinton then signs NAFTA, and China, and look at us now.

Trade agreement is not a bad thing. Of course, it should enforce the trade balance and eliminate the current 11 billion per year trade deficit with South Korea. This is what US Congress hopefully (but is not expected to [why?]) will do.

I see. So we can raise our standard of living by over-paying for domestic products.

Think about it.

Your knowledge of basic economics is sadly lacking--in this case, Comparative Advantage.

Yes, look at us now--Canada, Mexico, and China are our largest export markets. And certainly not our only markets, nor our only trade agreements (we have several).

Think about it. Shutting down nearly $2 trillion dollars worth of U.S. markets. THAT would kill the economy.

Obama is, of course, also planning to use information from the vaccination programme to have white kids abducted and sold to the United Arab Emirates, where they'll be cut up for organ transplants, after being used as sex toys by swarthy gentlemen in burnooses first.
(The money from this initiative will all go to Israel, obviously.)
