He has since acquired Irish, Hawaiian and Palestinian citizenship.[1] He is a former U.S. Marine who served in the 1991 Gulf War who subsequently spoke out about the use of Depleted Uranium as a "crime against humanity" and the US Military using soldiers as "human guinea pigs" with experimental drugs that were directly linked to Gulf War syndrome.[2] [3] He is also a social entrepreneur utilizing direct action marine conservation,[4] but he is more widely known as a human rights activist who led the human shield action to Iraq and as a survivor of the Israeli attack on the MV Mavi Marmara who helped disarm two Israeli Commandos.[5]

On January 7, 2004, O'Keefe burned his U.S. passport in protest of "American Imperialism" and called for US troops to immediately withdrawal from Iraq. He replaced his US passport with a World Passport in accordance with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which protects the right to travel and self-determination. Subsequently he proclaimed himself a "Citizen of the World" with “ultimate allegiance to my entire human family and to planet Earth." [6]"

Unfortunately many do give voice to guys like this and women like Cindy Sheehan. He wasnt even on deck when the IDF boarded.

Making things up is not one of my approaches to posting, unlike many on this board.


I'm not saying that it is.  However, simply citing the source puts you instantly above that and avoids the thread getting put off track.

I listened to it up to the point he said he wasnt on deck when the IDF landed. After that anything he has to say is irrelevant.

I did but it's difficult to comment on because it is the same old story just recycled in a new incident.

No matter what happens over there each side claims the other is completely lying and there really is no way to determine the truth unless you have independent observers who witnessed the events.

It was an interesting interview though.

I agree with you too about the quality of the interview.  Although there are a few in this country that will really hammer their guests with tough questions I think most are afraid that if they do it will discourage others from coming on their show.

Which is another reason why when your only source is wiki, it needs noted.

There is a long list of servicemen from the first gulf war who still want to know what were in those injections.  Many  of them suspect those injections are behind the illnesses they have been stricken with.  The Government had never been very forth coming about it.  But the US Government has never had a history of hiding that kind of info, can anyone say Agent Orange.

There are many people and groups around the world who have been behind banning depleted  uranium ammunition.  One Doctors group has studies and treatments of people who they were used against and what has happened to the general population in the areas they were used.  Much of this is from Bosnia were Nato forces used tons of depleted uranium shells.  They site cancers and other strange disease which abnormal levels in the areas the depleted uranium was used.

But hey ignore all of that and it is a good reason for Wilbur to try and discredit what he has to say.

1. O'Keefe himself is the source of the Hawaii citizenship notation.
2. I discredited what he had to say because he wasn't on deck when the IDF landed. I was all ears till then.

Status: offline 		Part of the problem with depleted uranium is that it seems to be able to find its way into the watertable. There's quite a bit of evidence for this happening in Iraq and the former Yugoslavia.
