I imagine it's like the army and the other military forces, you're supposed to have certain items in your attire, you're supposed to have ARMY boots.  COMBAT boots.  At least they give them to you and you don't have to go buy your own!

Now my mind is racing.  Hot men in boots.

I am curious what- the standards for such shoes- are they really better?

Why would police want these particular shoes?

I wondered due to the fake cop car fire at the g20.   The shoes gave it away.

If I am understanding you right, what you want to know is are the police type shoes better constructed, or have some special things about them. I f that is the case I can reveal that the same type of shoes were footwear for British Airforce personnel and possibly the Navy also. They could be bulled up bright or painted with nose cone paint to give that patent look. I believe they are also available already in the patent look. The shoes themselves are well built, fairly heavy, but with chemical and slip resistant soles. They are good hard wearing shoes, but not the most comfortable.

Not the ones I had, but yes, I believe they can be got, but also to add, the soles of such shoes being kind of industrial also provide insulation for minor electric shock, are are static resistant for working with semiconductor technology. If I remember righly, chuck them at someone and it is more than an insult, they hurt !
