In her 1st and probably last interview on a non-fox program, she proves there is a politian dumber than Sarah Palin. http://www.mediaite.com/online/nevada-senate-candidate-sharron-angle-sits-for-first-msm-interview-survives/ "Sharron Angle wants to clarify something for voters in her home state of Nevada — she doesn't believe U.S. Senate majority leader Harry Reid should be shot dead. Angle, the Republican Party's U.S. Senate candidate in Nevada, has backed away from inflammatory comments suggesting Americans would exercise their Second Amendment gun rights and "take out" Reid, who she is trying to unseat in this November's congressional midterm elections. "Well, I was speaking broadly, as you saw, about the Constitution, and that was the context of that rhetoric," Angle told a local television reporter in a rare interview with a Nevada media outlet since winning the GOP nomination last month. "I admit that was a little strong to say 'take him out,' but you know what I meant. I meant take him out of office, and taking him out of office is a little different (than shooting him)." That reassurance might be comforting for Reid, but it has done little to alleviate mounting concerns within the Republican Party that Angle is a political disaster in the making, a candidate with the potential to cost the GOP victory in one of the most winnable Senate seats in the country. The former Nevada state politician won the Republican nomination last month on a wave of support from Tea Party activists — joining a growing list of candidates who have shot to prominence with help from the antigovernment movement that is reshaping U.S. conservative politics. But like Kentucky Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul — another Tea Party favourite, who questioned civil rights legislation that banned racial segregation — Angle has been in political trouble almost from the moment she won the Republican primary in Nevada. She has likened U.S. Social Security to welfare and said she favoured phasing out Medicare, the government-run health insurance plan for American seniors. But Angle drew national attention for her remarks suggesting Americans might respond to the Democrats' majority rule in Washington by preparing for armed rebellion. "You know, our Founding Fathers, they put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason, and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government. And in fact Thomas Jefferson said, it's good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years,"Angle, a staunch proponent of gun rights, told an interviewer in January. "I hope that's not where we're going, but, you know, if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies and saying, my goodness, what can we do to turn this country around? I'll tell you, the first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out." The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution affirms the right to "keep and bear arms" as necessary to guarantee the security of a free state. Angle has not yet said what Second Amendment "remedies" she was talking about. But her rhetoric has buoyed Reid, the most powerful Democrat in the Senate, who has cast Angle as out of the mainstream of U.S. politics." http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Party+candidate+misfires+Senate+race/3221940/story.html#ixzz0sOyq1OsP Read more: http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Party+candidate+misfires+Senate+race/3221940/story.html#ixzz0sOyeBfyM Read more: http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Party+candidate+misfires+Senate+race/3221940/story.html#ixzz0sOxRQ5bb http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Party+candidate+misfires+Senate+race/3221940/story.html
