Lolsy, Yes custom made needles are super cool. I havent made any but since I am allergic to metals that are not silver gold and higher presciousness I can tknit with the regular kind. Am a huge fan of the bamboo ones!

Beaver teeth! That reminds me of a dating email address I made up once, [email protected] and then for the name part that gets sent in the email I had Damn Fine (A jewish beaver!) Good times!

heartcream -> RE: Yarngate (7/4/2010 12:59:14 PM)

Kyra, are you there? Are you cool with this?

I hope so. I had an idea that you could come up with a pattern you made up, a block or a stripey thing or anything at all that meant Logic and Reason, for example. Or "US". Maybe Knights would let you slide needles on a park bench sometime.

He could choose the theme or colors if he wanted.

heartcream -> RE: Yarngate (7/5/2010 7:10:03 PM)

I realize knitting in public means nothing really anyway. I rarely do myself.

I was saying to Knights a sec ago in cmail that the place I would most want to knit would be the airport to calm my nerves. Now with all the madness on planes they wouldnt let knitting needles on anyway so they would have to go in luggage and are not around when the sitting around waiting part is going on anyway. So really it is no big deal to not knit in public. I am guessing Kyra gets to knit at home and that is where I do pretty much all my knitting anyway.

I wonder if visiting relatives counts as knitting in public. I like to knit when I go visit my folks, lotsa fun.

I rest my case. Knitting is fun and good for you too!

Jeffff -> RE: Yarngate (7/5/2010 7:12:34 PM)

It is nice to see this resolved.

Can I get a scarf?

LMAO

Okay, I just noticed this thread.... LOL

He will be so amused when he gets back home. I am not sure if this will help or hurt the yarn cause. He will be back on Wednesday night, so we will see then if everyone has managed to sway him...

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Yarngate (7/5/2010 8:07:04 PM)

You can totally bring knitting on planes now. Pointed sticks AND garrotes!!

Are you freaking serious? I am so glad I started this thread if only to find this out.

I am jumping up and down happy to hear this. YAY! Really? My faith is restored, seriously is it true? Coolest!

Kyra I think I blew it for you. My intention when baaaaa-ing like a sheep so you could knit in public would turn out wool, but I am not so sure. I felt it was a good thing but I think I may have shrunk your chances. The skeins of postings I have made were meant to weave together in a pleasing way for you.

I am sorry, I didnt mean to make it worse! [:(]

ShaharThorne -> RE: Yarngate (7/6/2010 4:56:32 AM)

I am now crused(?)...I spent over $100 on yarns, hooks and a combo thread hook so I can thread my yarn needles with.
Someone hide me...[sm=couch.gif]

Huh? What does this mean Shahar?

ShaharThorne -> RE: Yarngate (7/6/2010 12:25:35 PM)

It involves Mom...she has control over my money so I would not go crazy shopping.  I needed a stronger yarn threater(?) something to cut my yarn with (as if I will get on a plane...) and I got projects to do, imcluding the project that I forgotten years ago.

She knows that I ordered a stainless hooks for making snowflakes with.  she does not know about the L and M hooks.

At least I did not ordered any crocheting books...unless I join another book club...(believe me, I am resisting)
