DarkSteven -> The Phil Masters case gets around to punishing the evil... (7/1/2010 6:16:36 AM)

Quick synopsis: Peggy Hetrick was murdered in 1987. The Fort Collins prosecutor's office, no doubt trying to resolve the case quickly, identified a teenage boy as a suspect due to some vicious-looking drawings he had done - and little else. He was convicted of murder in 1999 despite a lack of any physical evidence. Later it turned out that the prosecution had deliberately suppressed evidence. In 2008, Masters' lawyers requested a new trial based on DNA testing. The judge responded by dismissing all charges against him instead. Fort Collins paid Masters $10 million recently to settle a lawsuit he brought. Now the cop who framed him is getting charged. I hope that the prosecuting attorneys in that case (now judges) will get charged soon too. http://www.denverpost.com/ci_15415704
