Because I found it hysterically funny, I had to share. Maybe someone else needs a laugh, I find them useful!

I got a funny cmail. The person claims my profile photo is stolen, among other not-so-pleasant claims. I can handle being a lame poser, and I can even handle having missed the fact that I have a penis (wow, really? I have a penis? NEAT!), but that my self-photo is stolen from another copepod? No way! Only humans do that to each other! We copepods have more honor than to steal each other's self-portraits! It must have been an accident! I do have many pictures of copepod friends and relatives, afterall. And I must admit, we copepods don't have as many distinguishing features as humans do.

I apologize to whoever that copepod was in the picture on my profile, and have replaced the false picture with a real picture of myself. The copepod on my profile is now actually of me, promise!

Until I see a picture of the copepod holding up a sign with the words "I'm blushes' slut", I have no choice but to believe you lifted this off of some other copepod's myspace account.

Well, I do have some waterproof papers.. But I am all out of pens that write under water. I am so sorry! OMG, now my poor little copepod heart is breaking! :( I will scurry off to the store posthaste and get a new waterproof pen to prove my little self to the world!

Edited to add: Just so I am more truthful, too, I have changed my forum Avatar from the half-ruined house (which is not me, but it is a friend and she gave permission for her photo to be used!) to a cropped photo of me. Hopefully it will show up, and then there will be no more confusions about who I am.

Well, copepod is a new one on me. But then so was being called a "box of shit" yesterday. First time I've been called that. Doesn't even make sense. Which of course means I will have to try my damndest to incorporate it in a sentence in the not so distant future. O well, the "teacher" sure didn't like the fact that I lured men then had the nerve to denigrate them. It was a definite WTF moment. One of many. [:D]

I know, we are not many. The keyboard industry does not make keyboards that are easy for copepods to use. So few of us learn to type, and even fewer of us ever make it to the internet. And of course, you humans often seem to fear what is not understood. I am very sorry, I do not mean to make anyone afraid. Gosh, I didn't know planktonic species could use any keyboard.  The Japanese are really good a minaturization, but this is amazing.  Are you freshwater or saltwater?

Japanese culture is awesome in their willingness to meet the needs of small creatures. They are also very fond of cute things, which I find inspiring.

I am a saltwater copepod, though I will tolerate brackish water for short periods of time. [:D]

I swear I do have permission! She is one of my favorite houses. She said hardly anyone goes to see her, and no one showed up to her last house-party. In fact, there are big "do not trespass" and "warning: cliff" and "danger: unstable house" signs all over the poor house. She was thrilled to see me, and asked me to take her picture if I was willing to risk falling off the cliff into the ocean, which I did. I only almost dropped the camera a few times, and myself only once. It was worth the risk, for her of course!

I worry about her. I don't think her attraction to cliffs is very healthy. But I respect her right to make her own choices in life, even if it is hard for me to watch her self-destruct. I don't feel right about interfering.

Plus ruined houses on cliffsides make for awesome looking photos. :)

I make many copies of myself, and form a tripod out of the clones? And of course, copepods have these neat long antenna-like cilia things!
