Then there was our Maths teacher Mr Lund. Well....we had this Maths genius in our class...Longy the lad was called.....and very early on it was clear that Longy...a 14 year old........knew far more than our teacher........this particular day Mr Lund was doing some equation on the blackboard and Longy said: "Sir it's wrong...here's what you should have done"....and started chalking it on the blackboard....and it really pissed off Mr Lund...you could see him fuming....which was a big mistake as we had him then......so every now and again we'd be "Longy....get up and do the equations...show Mr Lund how it's done"......and he did...and we used to ignore Mr Lund and pretend he wasn't there and Longy used to teach us Maths.....Mr Lund would be seriously pissed off about the whole thing.....we thought it was funny though...

Apologies for highjacking thread....just reminiscing!

Then we had a teacher who couldn't get through the lesson without having a cigarette.....so he'd go out for a smoke in the staff room and we'd start messing about taking shoes off other kids and hoying them out the window and they'd go sailing past the staff room window where he was smoking and he'd come running up trying to sort us out after seeing these shoes go flying past the window....

Or...even more childish...we used to all take out a handful of pubes and put them in the book he was reading and had left on his desk.........there'd be all sorts in there...ginger...brown...black.......and he'd come in and we'd all be serious as if nothing was wrong....and he'd just brush them off the book and get on with the lesson as if nothing had happened.....

You had to be there I suppose.....but to a bunch of 14 year old lads we'd be in our element.....

Yeah but to be fair to him I don't know anyone that used a music lesson to learn a musical instrument, it just never happened.

Those that could play already knew how to (because they had an odd upbringing).

Our music lessons were used for 'fighting in the dark', a very fun game that you can only play in violin store rooms containing expensive musical instruments.

I went to what had been a grammar school before comprehensive schools came in and the teachers hadn't moved on....so it was a case of middle class teachers trying to teach working class kids......for instance...all the teachers wanted us to play rugby....but we put a stop to it by taking the piss during matches....we hated it and more often than not the scrums would end in a brawl with lads just hoying punches at anything that moved....we just wanted the teachers to let us play football so did pretty much anything to get rugby stopped....similar with music....our music teachers were well educated grammar school types who really wanted to educate us and help us move away from our collective socio-economic status.....they must have been in despair that we really just weren't interested and thought lessons were an extension of when you went round a lass's house with a few of your mates to mess around and have a laugh........

The only lessons I remember being serious about were History....English Literature....and Religious Education (as we had some spot on debates about euthanasia and abortion).....and couldn't really have cared less whether or not I passed or failed the rest of 'em....

Rugby they always play it in winter when the ground is frozen solid and the flesh is raw.

Even the professional Rugby players play it the way you describe, to me it just looks like complete chaos. You often see then stamping on someone on the ground to get them to release the ball. If I understood the rules perhaps I'd understand how the ref turns a blind eye to some of that stuff.

I broke a guy's recliner.  It was the first time he invited me to his place.  It was my introduction to D/s.  I thought he was a wonderful man.  He remains a wonderful man.  I broke his recliner.
