OP he could well be over his ex by now. Years ago my sister met a business friend of my father while he was just out of his divorce and ranting against women. She wouldn't spit on him to put out a fire. I met him six months later and he was a really nice guy then. So you can't tell by that.

Well, I'm sure that's possible, but since his profile opens with a statement about all the "fakes" I'm thinking he is still kind of bitter, lol.

As an update, he did respond to my email, saying I sounded "pissed." I literally had said, "We actually met around 2004 and went to dinner at what is now called _______. Ring any bells for ya?" Now as most people around here know, that is so NOT me being pissed, lol. But it was his next statement brings the bitterness he must still have home. He said how I had nothing to be pissed about since he did pay for dinner.

Yep, thinking still bitter, lol.

How exactly does that sound bitter?

Maybe it's a good thing you passed this one by! [;)]

Profiles that being with statements about the fakes are always from bitter guys. And the comment about him paying for dinner? Yea apparently, he has some issue with that, although I have no idea what. I'm old fashioned that way. If I guy asks me out for dinner, I expect him to pay.

Oh. That was my thought too. I didn't think I sounded bitter or pissed at all. In any case he never responded to my email telling him I wasn't the least bit pissed and asking him how his daughter was. Nothing lost on my end. Past back where it belongs, in the past.

Definitely he's still stuck. And yet he comes to a site like this looking for pity fucks. Some people have no sense.

Oh well, I get that all the time. Every couple of months this guy will email me. The same exact email, by the way, lol. I politely responded the first time with a no. The second time I politely reminded him I had already answered him. The third time I suggested he start keeping a list of who he has cut and paste the same damn message to that turned him down!

I used to have the same response about keeping a list about people someone had contacted prior.  Then something dawned on Me that had potential of being more effective.  The mail system here saves transactions for six months.  I simply copy/paste the mailing history back in reply.  It got rid of many of My 'repeat offenders'.  Especially those using form letters or the same introductory comments.

As to the original, people often spot My profile here after meeting at an event or we meet at an event and they recognize Me from My profile.  (The last time that happened was two weeks ago at the munch I attend.)  Unless I can associate where I've met them by their picture or location on their profile, they will probably have to remind Me when or where we met.  There have been so many people that I've bumped into over the years that I don't always remember.
