Some of the ads on CollarMe seem to be from 'bots.  They consistently show a login time in the last few hours, or in some cases, minutes.  They never post to forums. They have good pictures and don't sound very picky. They don't answer mail. They just keep logging in to get their ad to the top of the list.  Anyone else noticing this?

If you are in the boards and click on names to read profiles it shows you as being on "now" over on the other side.  You don't need to post to be active.
I'm a bot  because I almost always have a collarchat window open and I always read profiles of posters...so I almost always show up as being on now even though I am mainly on over on this side.
It's late...did that make any sense at all????

CanadianGuy -> RE: Bot people (4/14/2006 9:22:56 PM)

I know what you mean.  And the profiles are always the same.  Directing you to message them for some reason (at which point you probably get spam as a reply).  Or "I'm hot and 18 and my master wants another hot 18 year old girl, so please hurry up and give us a call and we'll send you a plane ticket!"  Ugh..

Yeah made lots of sense Aileen. Alot of people read forums but not post. And alot don't want to answer e-mails. This should be taken as a sign of best thing to happen to you. Is when someone doesn't answer. Saves on wasted time with one that would play you to begin with, should you accidently e-mail a player.

I just can't understand this...you are a bot...I know this without question...why...because you told me you weren't by responding to my mail....lol

happy holidays A...

proudsub -> RE: Bot people (4/15/2006 9:42:18 AM)

I think MissSix is the only bot on here.[:o]

I sometimes login several times because I freeze up frequently, it's not to bring my profile to the top. There are many who never read the message boards.

RiotGirl -> RE: Bot people (4/15/2006 10:35:47 AM)

Never noticed it.....

but i rarely pay any attention and rarely do i email some one and they dont respond.  But i'm sure it happens more then rarely, except when they do i just totally move on and w/e it.  Uh, it doesnt matter so much to me i suppose.  So i move on forget, so well that i cant actually remember it happening.. but i'm sure it has.  LOL

I know you're a bot, and a very nice one I might add...  Why can't they all be more like you.   I'm pretty sure I'm a bot some days too. [;)] M

I don't think it is bots... most likely people that are simply not responding.

We just had a woman on here not long ago wondering why no one responded to her emails when she was only seeking information & possible friendship of those in an area she was moving to... she came to find out that the bulk mail filter had been capturing her mail & she discovered several pages of emails.

Not much we can do about informing people that their settings may be dumping mail into the bulk folder. Maybe CM will light up that folder like they do new messages in regular mail just so people might discover mail they never knew they had.

ps... there is a nifty little feature marked as "hide profile"... click this & it will remove profiles from your view if you do not wish to see them anymore. I know I have enjoyed this feature because there are profiles I frequently see that I know I have no interest in communicating with but since they are a) local b)within the age range & c) submissive... theirs pop up everytime.

HayaSierra -> RE: Bot people (4/15/2006 5:18:45 PM)

Greetings,

Something that sadly is no longer the case with me but that has happened while I was living in Florida was that when you have an ALWAYS on internet connection (Cable modem), and you don't properly log out, it shows you as being "logged in" only minutes ago. I only realized because I had gone to work once and got a message from one who had written me : I sent my E-mail 8 hours ago, you have been online the whole time, why didn't we chat or reply?  And this was from someone I knew, so I felt a bit bad. I explained it, and realized it was my always on connection which had been the cause.

Haya Sierra --- stuck now on a 37 K to 40 K connection.....

IronBear -> RE: Bot people (4/15/2006 5:42:27 PM)

Ahhhhhhh for the good old days when in MSN Chats we used to get hit wioth bots and what ever so we all got bots that kicked/banned the other bots and they sent in Arnie Bots , the sort who always said "I'll be bacl!" as the left after tryiong  to trash the rooms and we'd reply with Dirty Harry , the sort who always said "Make my day!" or "Feel lucky punk?"  Well that is a tiny exageration but it was the time of botty wars.. A bot here, a bot there, every where a bot, bot. Botties everywhere..
