I wasn't able to breathe, that pretty much did it for me. Didn't need anything after that. I DID quit for 7 months with the patch. However, I wasn't born with asthma, I got it from smoking. What I DO know is that when you quit, you will be AMAZED at the amount of energy you have and, I swear, it's like getting a face lift, that's how much your skin improves! I wish it were easy, it is SO not. Even when you're struggling to breathe. I wish that they would make all the bars non-smoking down here, cause I still feel VERY tempted when I'm having a drink or hell even if I'm just somewhere and people are smoking nearby. But it's only been a few weeks for me, this time. I'm hoping to make it last. I know it will get easier, the longer I go without, though. And working out helps a great deal. Actually, a regular exercise routine will also help diminish those cravings, I strongly recommend it! I know you can do it! Hang in there! If you slip, don't beat yourself up and get right back on top of it again. Also, lollipops help and they're definitely sexy looking! You might also take up crochet or knitting!
